Various news reports have confirmed that Dallas Cowboys secondary coach Jerome Henderson will interview later this week for the Cleveland Browns open spot at head coach. The Browns fired Mike Pettine last Sunday. The Cowboys secondary has definitely struggled in recent years but this year the pass defense was actually pretty good. It was the lack of interceptions that was the big issue. Henderson did good work this year without Orlando Scandrick and missing Morris Claiborne for a series of games.

Henderson has ties to the Browns, he was their secondary coach for three years, 2009-11. He also played in the league for eight years for four different teams. His contract with the Cowboys is expiring so it's unknown if he'll be back in Dallas even if he doesn't get the job.

The Browns have a long list of guys interviewing for the job so Henderson's chances of getting it are probably not the best. The list includes New England Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia, Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase, and Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson among others.
