good read, fans should take note about tony , being involved with no limitations, and looking good.

"We got calls during the draft asking to trade for some of our running backs.

Is Stephen saying that teams wanted to trade for our running backs? I didn't understand this quote in connection with Leary. Any interpreters?

I think he is saying that they have no intention of giving away any players, be it running backs or Leary. He just used the conversations he had with potential trades of a RB to make the point that they want a good return for any player.

Please stay away from Freeney

I think Freeney could help but he will also be a progress stopper. I've looked at the DL and while there are no stars cutting someone may prove to be the wrong one. It's a numbers game and there will be some help from the young guys....who I don't know nor to a think anyone can answer that with certainty now. There's also the problem of committing to someone that age. I'd rather do so after the first game to avoid having to pay him the entire year.

Thanks for the interpretation. I was puzzled, to say the least.

Freeney was paid a base salary of 970k with sack incentives last year, he had 8 sacks and that made him another 600k. Our window for winning a super bowl revolves around Romo, when he's done we're going to be done so I think that we should do everything to win now and if that means paying a player 1.5 million for 8 sacks then so be it. We can't worry about 1.5 mill or signing him after the first game, that's being overly cheap.

Too old. Too small. If I see DF in the game, its an automatic run to his side audible. Its time to let the young bucks get some reps.

That's a legitimate argument. It does not take into account pushing a player off the roster nor does it consider the fact he may not produce like he did last year. That is not a given.
