I did not have time to be precise but the point was why was the TE on the left for most of those plays? And if the guy he was on was a third rd draft choice that means he has potential but that is about it. Just like Butler who gave Free a lot of trouble. I noticed that your commentary said the guy basically quit on some plays. So lets be brutally frank here: he did not face off with anyone that we know is any good at all. I kind of wish he had been going against Ellis- that would have been interesting and more informative. BUT anyone saying Free proved anything of consequence against Oakland is full of it. Now against the Ravens we should learn a LOT more. I can say that there is hope Free has something now- I really did not think so at all before this game.

Sorry I did not reply right away but I fell asleep.
Read some of your own posts huh?

no actually I just got back from a medical procedure and the juice they hit me with caught up to me. I am suprised you don't try and pound nails with your head with some of the stuff you post.

good stuff. we really need free to be the man, otherwise we are spending our first rounder on a LT next year.

IMO its still a first rounder on a LT

Free can be the swing tackle

I'm a contractor, I have a hammer. Better yet a nail gun.

I use my head for thinking. You should try it. Hope you're feeling better.

I don't like the play-by-play comment that says he just stands there...he should go find someone and hit them.

One of them was a three-step drop. Free gave a quick punch to his man at the snap, the guy slid inside, and Kitna threw a quick slant. There wasn't time to find someone else to block.

On the other one, Free didn't have anyone to block, so he went and hit the guy the tight end was blocking as Kitna threw it, which is exactly what you wanted.

Whoever wrote that play-by-play misrepresented those plays by saying Free "just stands there."

The tight end was on the left 11 times, on the right 10 times, and on both sides (one TE each side) four times. You can't get much more balanced than that.

Because we run an offense that uses the TE, and even the two TE position alot. Either Witten or Bennett will be lined up next to Flozell Adams 40+% of the time in the regular season as well. Does that imply to you that we don't trust Flozell Adams?

I never saw Free quit on any play, when I rewatched the game focusing on him. I am not sure what the blogger was looking at to say that he quit on the plays, I certainly never saw it.

Yes, going up against Ellis would have been informative, but then again there are alot on this board that would still say that Free was terrible, if he stoned Ellis on ever play, and pancaked him 5 times..... No, Free did prove something against Oakland, he proved that his good camp was not just talk. He also proved that he does still have a chance to develop into a good OL, and he proved that he is someone we need to keep and eye on. That is all any young prospect can prove in a single game, no matter who it is against.

The Titans will be a good test as well, the Titans always have a good DL, and Fischer can sure coach the defense.

The guy FREE was working on supposedly quit on a few plays. Don't know why you think it was Free.

I would think a good judge of Free's talent would be better served if he replaced Flo and played with the other starting OL. We already know what we have in Flo..... I think Free should get all the playing time he can in the final three pre season games, then go from there.

I wish they would do that, but I don't think they will.

It really would help to get an idea of where Free stands at the moment.

Are we paying this guy just to stand around? What a wasted draft pick!

  Didn't realize that you were paying Free. Get a clue buddy. Free had a solid game. The people who do get paid to know these things(the Coaches), stated that Free has a solid game against Oakland.
