Good franchises are able to rebound from bad draft picks, bad ones? See the Browns and the Lions.

I wouldn't obsess or whether we'll do the right thing with the pick. Just make the best pick you can with the available information and live with it.

Just doing a little YouTube scouting, I'm in the latter category. From what i've read he was short in high school. That's why he's not at a notable program and the No. 1 pick.

I hope all you draftniks took a look at his championship game. That team plays a pro set just like NFL teams. He is not running one of those "run & shoot"
spread em out or jail break offenses. When Garrett gets a look at him in a couple of weeks the wheels will be set in motion. The Cowboys are going to get Wentz unless
they shoot themselves again for the umpteenth time.

That is exactly the scenario I see playing out. It makes too much sense to not happen.

That being said....

If this guy shows well at the Senior Bowl and we have the inside baseball on his abilities and mental capacity from coaching him, I would be absolutely fine picking him at 4. I know these things are not actually related, but we all must remember that we got 2 TOP first round talents (Gregory & Collins) last year for a low 2nd round pick. So, I feel like we can target the most important position on the football field, even if technically he is not the "best player available." I would rather take a chance on a QB, than suffer through another decade of mediocrity without having taken a shot.

I am of the mindset that if there is a QB on the board that you consider a "franchise QB" then you take him at 4 and move on. You trade down, then you gamble that somebody is going to leap frog infront of you and take your QB.

Would rather draft a player 10 spots early than 1 spot too late if you get my drift.
