Easily. Last year and 2007. Biggest flops ever especially 2007. Best records in the NFL and lose first game at home. 2 home playoff wins in 20 years and then lose the next week. Not much better. This team needs to stay hungry.
The Team needs to be ready to play when the time comes.

Here's my wild prediction...............

It's the Eagles that we will fight for the division crown, not the Giants. Until Manning shows last year was flukey and plays better and that OL shows it can block anyone, I think the Giants will be the big disappointment this year, as opposed to all the experts predicting we will be.

I am sure this post will elicit responses showing the empty trophy case for the Eagles but they are more of a threat than the Giants IMO. They have an excellent DL, they have a good OL, they added real weapons for Wentz in the passing game, they did a decent job filling a massive hole at CB.

If you were worried too many people were pushing the Cowboys as NFC East favorites, worry no more.

Football Outsiders recently predicted the Cowboys would have the fourth-best record in the NFL this year, and win the NFC East.

Every single sports betting site currently has the Cowboys with the best odds of winning the NFC East.

ESPN's Sports Analytics team calculated its initial Football Power Index rankings for 2017 a while back and has the Cowboys ranked at No. 6 overall and taking the NFC East.

All of that positivity about the Cowboys may have left you feeling a bit worried that too many people were pushing the Cowboys as NFC East favorites.

Well, worry no more, because the analysts at NFL.com have taken it upon themselves to remedy that in one fell swoop.

15 NFL.com analysts published their predictions for the NFC East, ranging from the ridiculous to the sublime, 14 of them have the Cowboys missing out on the division title.

The Giants were picked to win the division ten times despite the lack of an NFL-quality O-line and the lack of an NFL-quality starting quarterback.

The Eagles were picked four times, with Steve Wyche offering a nice example of fan-fiction writing (“Carson Wentz looks like the real deal”).

The Commanders weren't picked a single time. Coming just two months after NFL.com offered a vanity license plate with the outline of the state of Washington, the Commanders may have to remind NFL.com that if you're going to have an East Coast bias, you've got to include the Nation's capitol (reminder: it's on the East Coast).

The sole analyst picking the Cowboys was Adam Rank:

No Zeke, no problem with this offensive line, as Dak Prescott emerges as a true leader.

Cowboys fans may find some comfort in that five of the writers are picking the Cowboys to at least secure a wildcard berth, but that still leaves nine analysts who don't think the Cowboys will make the playoffs at all this year.

Of course, there's an easy way to fix all this.

First we take the Giants, then we take the East.

Well, it's been rare for any team to win it back to back at all over the last 20 years.

That being said, this is just simple internet journalism. If they all rate us to win it (which they won't) then they'd generate tons of clicks from the haters. But that's unrealistic -- so an article where it's kind of "meh" or 50/50, where some have us winning and some don't, also isn't compelling.

Have everyone say we're going to not win it? You fire up Cowboys fans and you fire up the haters. Cowboys fans will click to be mad, haters will click to celebrate.

You've just hit your advertising revenue quota for the month. Congratulations.

Not without Elliott, no pass rush and an inexperienced secondary.

We have no idea what our pass rush is as if yet, until all our guys are back from suspention. Myself, I think when all is there, it will be better overall with all the new additions and the guys returning.

The Giants don't have an "NFL-quality starting quarterback?"

I guess they will have to make do with one who has two rings and two Super Bowl MVP trophies. They're even more screwed since he hasn't missed a start since 2004. Even the Browns and Jets are snickering at their misfortune. Is Colin Kaepernick or Johnny Manziel available for a last minute add before the season? I'm ruling out an intra-divisional trade for Kellen Moore.

To get recognition from the so called "experts", they need to consistently win. Over the past 10-20 years, whenever they have had a good year, they have followed it up with a poor year.

Once they have 10+ wins a year every year, these "experts" will start picking them.

Also, the NFC East isn't where the Packers or Patriots live. It's easy to pick them every year because the rest of the division stinks. Seattle to a lesser extent.

Wow. I have no problem with anyone picking another team--I think that's perfectly reasonable. But 1 out of 15 is crazy. I think we at least have as good as shot as the other 3 teams.

You do realize that it is just their opinion? It is not a big deal

I don't think it's that crazy to bet against the Cowboys winning the division considering no one has won the NFC East back-to-back since the Eagles 13 years ago.

Thankfully not winnning the division doesn't automatically rule you out of the Super Bowl

I hope you're right.

Last team to repeat the East was the Eagles like 15 years ago......the East winner never repeats

They are just playing the percentages with their predictions, not that crazy when you look at it mathematically
