Building this team through the Draft

All I had was linebacker footage and his strength was playing forwards not backwards.

Pretty much everyone knows run stopping linebackers aren’t worth a premium pick.

The 1st round is about players that can affect the passing game. All Parsons showed he could do was blitz.

What he has done as an edge rusher there was no proof of anywhere and had their been we don’t get a chance to pick him much less trade down and still get him lol.

I’m not saying anything wild. It’s just common sense.

His skillset screamed that he'd affect the passing game. And he also was adept at TFL's. So, there was actually a ton of proof.

People keep claiming this about his projected pass rushing skills, and it just isn't true. The proof was there.

I’m right about the linebacker. Nothing impressive.

I had no idea he could play the edge and it took me about halfway through the Chargers game to say make the switch.

Cowboyszone didn’t agree with me. Dan Quinn did.

His scouting reports screamed that he could play the edge.

Honest question, who are you listening to concerning the draft?

The NFL is setup where the draft will never be enough. You have to utilize free agency and trades and basically every avenue available to improve your team. Everyone loves to brag about how well this team drafts yet they win nothing. That's an eye opener.. just not for the GM or his dingbat offspring.

They do a great job of drafting.

They’re terrible with Free Agents, trading, and properly evaluating / paying their own talent.

The NFL draft is what keeps this team relevant.

A bit of luck doesn’t hurt too. They did everything possible to not draft Parsons and still got him.

Very well said. They still take unnecessary risks in the draft with high picks though (Gregory, J Smooth, Bossman Fat, etc.). I give the scouts credit for the good picks the bad ones are clearly idiot Jerry.

We hear this so much, realistically, how many of those players will actually help you out in the season?

The recent most draft we used, Smith, Williams, and Bland. While the other guys need time to get ready for this game. Then by this year's draft, will be adding more young guys to this team. People are going to get lost in the shuffle.

I say draft well, but still pick up some free agents!

You can’t build just through the draft because you can’t find a quality player at every positiin
But you want the majority of your roster and starters to be draft picks

This team has signed pricey free agents in the past and regretted it. They made trades for players, and regretted it. About the only thing they have done well at is draft.

Draft well and then go out and sign a Daron Payne type 1T and this D will be much better. They have to free up the LB's and safeties with a great DT or three

Of course it is. If the draft was all that is needed then players would be retiring after that first contract. There are also not enough talented people in every draft that can help turn a franchise around in a couple of years.

Good grief, name one team, one single team that has advanced even to a Conference Championship Game trying to run a team they way Dallas is.

Bottom line is Jerruh has tried it both ways and he doesn't know what he's doing. Until we have a compitant GM things will never change.

Jones boys like draft picks as they are CHEAP!
They like FA that are CHEAP!

They do this so they can sign guys like dak and zeke to giant contracts , that they are not worth.
CD will get a giant contract too.And Parsons.
Parsons will be the only one maybe worth it.
