I think Dez has started to pass him this year.

Wouldn't surprise me if this game is the passing of the torch and Dez leaves him.

As good as Calvin is I don't think there is a better redzone threat than Dez.

Hey, if you're ultimately right, I won't complain a bit.

Not that he needs it. I'm looking for Nate Burleson to get drilled a few times Sunday.

"Listen, I like Dez," Burleson said Tuesday. "I think he's one of the best receivers in the game right now. Very talented, fast, big, strong -- he possesses all the tools to possibly be as good as Calvin.

"But he's not Calvin Johnson. No way, no how. Sorry, Dez. Keep it real."

You know what I hope Dez is past the point where he needs bulletin board material to get himself motivated to play great football.

I don't think he's playing Sunday. He's been out for a few weeks now.

I also don't find anything wrong with what he said. Especially when you factor in the fact that he is Johnson's teammate. Dez might pass Johnson at some point (perhaps sooner than later) but up to this point Johnson has a better track record than Dez.

I have no issue with this.

I have no issue with anyone saying or believing Megatron is the best in the league at WR right now. He most likely is. He's great.

But I don't think the gap is all that wide to be quite honest between not only Megatron and Dez but also this kid in Cincy people might have heard of named AJ Green. That guys pretty damned great two.

I honestly don't think you can go wrong with any of those three.

Through 50 games Dez has slightly better stats then CJ with the exception of YAC where Dez blows him away. They both are exceptional athletes that people fill the stands to see.

I can only imagine what kind of numbers Dez would have if they got him more involved earlier in games

The funny thing is, the bolded part is pretty much what Dez said.

this guy should really keep his mouth closed..
it'd be like some under study going at Chuck Norris for saying he's greater than Bruce Lee.
Lee and Norris are great in their own right at what they do..but who the hell is the understudy to try and undermine Chuck Norris?

So odd I am sitting here with my kids and I get a message that Nate Burleson is now following me on twitter!

That's out of left field!

He's not, he likely never will be. Not fast enough imo.

That doesn't mean he's not a great WR, he is. Just not ahead of Megatron.

That's right. That's all he really said and next thing we know it's all over the place that Dez thinks he's better. He didn't say that.

I do think that now that Dez is learning to run routes (but still has a long ways to go) he's starting to close the gap.

Dez got a taste for maybe 3 games this year of what Calvin has faced every single week for the last two years--that is double and even triple coverage.

I'm just happy we have Dez. If he passes Calvin, great. If not, that's fine too.
