Buried in Czarnecki's NFL report

Here's a new name to the next HC of the Dallas Cowboys:

Gregg Williams

And I'd like to see either Fassel or Mike Martz as QB coach. Garrett still needs some vet guidance/assistance.

No, no, no, no....saw that trainwreck first hand as an HC in Buffalo. He is another one of those "better off as a coordinator" types. He's a babbling idiot at the microphone and very arrogant. He's like Jim Zorn at the mic. Solid DC, not an HC.

Who is this Pittsburgh LBers coach that I keep hearing about???

Is he even capable of calling plays???

Edit: I just did a quick search on him and it appears that he was offered the DC job in Arizona this past off season but declined..People are speculating that he is waiting on LeBeau to retire to take over the Pittsburgh DC position.

Eh....if our defense doesn't completely ***, we're 5-0 right now.

And if our offense didn't repeatedly commit turnovers that gave our opponents the ball inside our 30 or were returned for a touchdown, we'd be 5-0 right now.

Yeah, lots of blame to go around. But it's hard to look at both sides of the ball and not say that the defense could improve much more than the offense.

I'd say the defense already has improved. (We'd be fine right now if we could fix the two-minute problem.)

The offense has had more injury problems, though.

I dont know why, but for some reason I continue to think we could put it all together and make a run.

I think there's a couple of issues they definitely wont be able to do anything about this yr (ie, the horrendous safety play, especially by Hamlin) but if if we can get healthy and Romo gets it going, we can still be a major factor.

I agree that they have improved each week. Hopefully that keeps building on itself.

In the grand scheme of things with this team since the Tuna left which side of the ball has carried this team?

What the hell has happened to our fans that we've got to tuck our tails and flinch when saying something positive about this team? Yes, we kill ourselves with turnovers. Yes, we need to fix two-minute defense. Yes, these are the types of problems teams are capable of addressing in-season.

We're already much better on defense than we were in week one. Our offense is capable of having its way with teams if we just don't turn the ball over. There's so much football yet to be played, and we're so far from finding out how the season's going to go it's not funny.

If we are going to hire a retread, the only one that really interests me is Cowher. This team is built almost perfectly for Cowher, he would just need to bring in his assistant coaches, install his systems, instruct the scouts on the type of players he wants, and then go to it. We have the 3-4 defensive personnel for him to get started with and add his type of talent to. We have 3 very good running backs and a big OL for him to establish a smash mouth type of offense. I would love to see what he could do with this team, especially after 2 or 3 drafts of players that fit his system added to what is already here.

I feel the same way but I think he will go to Carolina. I'm pretty sure he has a home near Charlotte.

And it will take a major fail for Garrett not to be named HC when and if Wade is fired.

I don't understand why everyone is so eager to get rid of Wade. If he goes then it means we have a failed season. I don't want that. I still think this team can be a Superbowl contender.

This. Say what you will, the defense is more of a problem now than the offense, and we all know what side of the ball we've spent most of our draft picks on in recent years...

Our biggest problem is mental errors. Turnovers, inopportune penalties. Big plays in coverage. I don't know that it's any more the defense's fault than it is the offenses, though. The defense at least is incorporating a lot of new players and has been improving fairly steadily each week.

I think the game has passed Shanahan and Holmgren. IF we had to get a new coach, I honestly have no idea who i'd want. If I had to pick any of them I'd probably pick Cowher, he still has passion for the game and his coaching assistants are top notch.

That being said, we've proved we can play with anyone on any given day. We had two games easily within our grasp of two divisional leaders in the NFC. If we can stop beating ourselves, which i'm skeptical of just because it's been the MO of this team for over 2 seasons now, I have no doubt we'll be a force come playoff time. If we can't..then we'll all be crying into our wheaties on Wildcard weekend awaiting the new coaching change.

It is going to take a major tank job for this offense to not end the year in the top 10, it is already #1.

So assuming we fail to reach the NFC Chapionship Game and Wade is fired, I dont see Garrett being passed up when his offense is top 10.

Like it or not fellas, the HC job is Garrett's to lose.

meh...the offensive meltdowns have been more impressive in duration and total ineptitude displayed. The defense could tackle slightly better and they'd be much improved...they offense could improve 3 things and still find stupid ways to lose.
