I'm going with Butler. Would rather have him be the number 2.

To answer the question (without being a smart *** which can be difficult for me)... I would probably give both guys some time and see who plays the best in the real games.

I think the team will give Williams every chance as the starter and he would have to mess up pretty bad for them to put Butler in over him. In his contract year, sitting him would be a bad look to other players around the league.

I think Williams will play above expectations this year for one reason.

Contract year.

He just strikes me as the kind of guy that over performs when a pay check is in sight. A good season could mean the difference of about 40 million dollars for him.

FYI, Williams isn't too bad when you consider he is the number 3 target on a run first team.

Williams is all about gaining enough separation to allow himself as a wide-open target - although he has made the occasional spectacular hands catch (ala the sideline catch against Seattle the season before last) it is definitely NOT the norm for him. Butler may lack the fluidity of T-Will but he appears to be more willing to fight for a ball-in-air. Butler is flat out the most physical of the two - but edge to Williams as a field stretcher and compliment to Dez.

Butler, i just feel he fights more, has good speed. Maybe not as polished as Williams, but when it comes to making the correct play, i just feel Butler does it better

That's kinda how I see it as well.

I'd be comfortable with Butler if Williams went out but Terrence will be fine to good this year, I think
I hope there is some kind of rotation to keep them fresh, with Dez being rotated a bit as well.

4th season in league, with 2 different teams, and Butler has has averaged all of 213 yards per season.

Will be 27 years old by the end of the season. Eventually having 'potential' on-the-field production matters -- he can't just be a guy that flashes one in a while.

I hope he finally realizes all that potential, however, I'm guessing he'll never even come close to challenging Williams.

Terrance is 26 and really hasnt lit it up as the number 2. More polished, dependable, but enough drops to keep him par for the course. I am no more right than anyone else on this. pretty much to close to say either is ahead of the other, i just feel many are comfortable with what we have in TW. That is completely fine as well.

If he "lit it up" he wouldn't be a number 2. His numbers have been very respectable.
