There are 19 WR's on the NFL 2021 Top 100 player's list.
Here are their week #1 results. At the bottom of the list is Amari Cooper's results (Apologies for the poor format):
Rank _ Player _ Rec _ Yards _ TD
6 _ Davante Adams _ 5 _ 56 _ 0
8 _ DeAndre Hopkins _ 6 _ 83 _ 2
11 _ Stefon Diggs _ 9 _ 69 _ 0
15 _ Tyreek Hill _ 11 _ 197 _ 1
22 _ DK Metcalf _ _ _
29 _ Julio Jones _ 3 _ 29 _ 0
48 _ Mike Evans _ 1 _ 5 _ 0
53 _ Ju Jefferson _ 5 _ 71 _ 0
55 _ Keenan Allen _ 9 _ 100 _ 0
62 _ A.J. Brown _ 4 _ 49 _ 1
65 _ Calvin Ridley _ 5 _ 51 _ 0
72 _ Michael Thomas _ 3 _ 24 _ 0
76 _ Tyler Lockett _ 4 _ 100 _ 2
80 _ Adam Thielen _ 9 _ 92 _ 2
81 _ Chris Godwin _ 9 _ 105 _ 1
87 _ Allen Robinson _ 6 _ 35 _ 0
91 _ Corey Davis _ 5 _ 97 _ 2
94 _ Jarvis Landry _ 5 _ 71 _ 0
96 _ Cole Beasley _ 8 _ 60 _ 0
N/A _ Amari Cooper _ 13 _ 139 _ 2
Soft Amari Cooper. Lazy and uninspired Amari Cooper. Amari Cooper who desperately needed to play in the preseason. Amari Cooper who was letting his teammates down by not participating in practices even though he wasn't 100%. He should have "gutted it out".
Amari "lacked dedication". He wasn't committed enough to adequately prepare for the season. Obviously CeeDee was on the verge of passing him up to be the new #1.
One game does not make a season, to be sure. However, one game can show you just how wrong perceptions can be. Dak Prescott is the primary example of that but he isn't the only one.
How many of these "Top 100" receivers had more receptions than Amari? How many had more TD's? I count one of these top "impact players" to have more yards than Amari.
This simply represents just how biased, flawed and ultimately worthless this list is without the addition of Amari Cooper. How many of these NFL stars could have produced a 1000 yard season with 70% of the games quarterbacked by the backup and 10% of the games quarterbacked by the backup's backup or some guy freshly signed off the streets?
How many of these WRs could have produced a 1000 yard season while being traded in the middle of that season?
A thousand yard season for the past three consecutive years, 5 of his 6 seasons in the league. Four time Pro Bowler. He is 27 years old. He has missed one start in the past three seasons.
Has any other player in this league been more disrespected recently? Amari doesn't say much but doesn't it seem as though he made a statement last Thursday?
