Best wishes to you.

Is this a good thing for the train wreck the team became this season...?

I wish him the best and thank him for two World Series appearances.

Don't know what happened the past couple of years to the Rangers. :(:(:(

What happened is they started losing all their players to FA. You can't expect to be the same team when you lose Hamilton, Cruz, Napoli, Young, Murphy, etc. over the course of a couple of years. Over the last 2 years all they've done is lose players every year and the only replacing they did was Fielder at first base but they gave up Kinsler for that move and then Fielder didn't even really play.

Goodbye Wash. It's sad to see him go. I really liked him.

I loved Ron. This is a sad day. The team is awful but I hoped he stayed.

Wonder why he quit? The team quit a long time ago from all I've read.

If youre a fan of the Rangers and you posted in this thread, please turn your fan card in on the way out because youve obviously been living under a rock.

MLB record for most call ups in history. Enough said. Ron was a great manager, this sucks.

I like them but just from a distance. I don't live there but I hoped they would win their WS games. So casual fan. Very casual.

Just for posting? Does that mean you are turning in your fan card?

In his statement Washington said this move was for personal reasons.

Turn in my fan card? Um? No.

I hope that he is able to take care of whatever it is. I wish him luck and thank him for some good memories.

I have been a fan of the Rangers since 1987. His tenure produced the best times by far of any Manager before him, Oates second.

In an article I read it said they looked forward to having him back as manager in 2015. So maybe it really is a personal/medical thing he decided to deal with now (since they are officially done for this year), and he's coming back next year.

Hopefully, I like Ron Washington and if I blame anybody it's more on Jon Daniels.

I'll bet you're fun at parties too.

I hate the Rangers.....btw, the Astros could use a manager now that Porter is gone.........

If its true, add Washington to the list with Young, Kinsler, and Ryan. People will start sayin' JD stands for Johnny Dunghill.

I highly doubt this is true....if so, I don't know really what to think about Wash and his decision.

Given how this season has gone, getting the 1st overall pick, largest draft pool $$$, largest international signing $$$, 1st rule 5 pick, and 1st on waiver wire is about the only thing to look as a bright spot. Not having your ACE with a bum elbow throw 3 meaningless games.

I'm gonna miss Wash. I know he was criticized sometimes for his decision-making during games, but man, that guy loved baseball and his players loved him.

The reported reason makes zero sense. Any idiot can make a blog, doesn't mean its going to provide good information. Any one with any baseball sense pretty much realized Darvish was done when he hadn't done any rehab by the end of the MiLB season. This might be a different issue if the Rangers were still in the playoff race, but with them being in the cellar there's zero reason to bring him back for 1-2 starts. Wash is a baseball lifer and I have zero doubt he knows that.

This is a blogger trying to get page views. The fact that it was random blogger #10352 that came up with this and not Evan Grant or one of the national guys really makes me say BS.

Don't know if it's true or not. Its not unreasonable to think that, just like in any long-term relation (8yrs?), hard feelings accumulate.
