Bye week awards

Biggest surprise? Dak playing at such a high level through all the contract drama (not that he is without flaws)

Biggest disappointment? A team who sprains their shoulder to pat themselves on the back for their drafting prowess getting next-to-nothing from their 2019 draft class. (almost went with Tank here)

Show me more of? Jourdan Lewis and Donovan Wilson.

Best player in a supporting role? Jourdan Lewis.

Most valuable player? Dak

Just me but the biggest disappointment is Zeke.....excluding his last game. In fact, I'm not that disappointed in Hill at all. He was drafted at bottom of 2nd round for a reason. Would I like to see more, yes but I'll wait after year 2. But not getting Zeke on track until last week has been the biggest disappointment for me.

Agree, part of that has to be how well we have drafted lately. Everyone wants an instant starter even if its a late 2nd rounder.

Biggest surprise: The fact the defense has clearly taken a step back from last year's level.

Biggest disappointment: No question. Trysten Hill. I didn't expect a lot. But he has been so ineffective it is terrifying. He does not even look like he belongs in this league. He is that awful.

Show me more of: Donovan Wilson. Yes. I understand you don't want to disrupt the defense, but he needs reps. He was very exciting in the preseason. The way the Cowboys handled Brock Marion is how he needs to be handled. Give him a few plays. This doglike devotion to Heath has to stop. The Cowboys took out Everett and Washington back in the day to get Marion on the field for reps.

Best player in a supporting role: Jourdan Lewis. But it is sad that we are one healed hammy from Anthony Brown to him disappearing again.

Most valuable player: Tyron Smith. It is pretty clear that teams behave differently on defense when he plays.

I agree with the OP, but just playing devil's advocate and picking all different players, I'd say

Biggest surprise: Robert Quinn being SUCH a bad dude.
Biggest disappointment: LVE and Jaylon Smith.
Show me more of: this fast, explosive Zeke from the Eagles game.
Best supporting role: Maliek Collins (think he is at something like 2 sacks/3 hits/15 pressures).
MVP: Tyron Smith.

You kind of have to include Cooper in what they got from their 2019 draft class IMO since he is what the 1st round pick was spent on. Agree with the rest.

Biggest Surprise: losing to Dolphins
Biggest Disappointment: running game
Show me more of: Pollard
Best player in supporting role: Lewis
MVP 1: Dak ....MVP 2: Cooper ( different offense w/o him )

Biggest surprise: Dak.
I am shocked at how much he has improved in one offseason. Accuracy and decisiveness.

Biggest disappointment:
1) Our superstar linebacking duo. We thought they were going to vie for best in the league. They might not even be the best on the team, with Lee and Thomas playing well.
2) Defensive player management. Kept Crawford, cut Taco. Failed to find us an upgrade at in the box SS. Although, maybe that's more biggest screw up rather than biggest disappointment, because I can't say that I'm really that surprised.

Show me more of:
1) Cobb/Austin/Olawale/Pollard
We signed multiple guys who stand out as complementary run/deep threats to the run game with Zeke, but they're not getting the touches *in that role*.
2) Devin Smith
Legit deep threat and apparently competent WR otherwise. I'd give him more snaps in base from Gallup. His speed complements the run game better than Gallup. Forces the defense off the LOS. Also, we've got him for another year, and should develop him.

Biggest surprise: More than 1 Field Goal over 60 yards or the Bennett trade.
Biggest disappointment: Injuries or Scheme issues.
Show me more of: Tony Pollard
Best player in a supporting role: DT Covington
Most valuable player: Dak Prescott

Best Newcomer: Robert Quinn

Show me more of: this fast, explosive Zeke from the Eagles game.
I liked how Zeke was playing against the Eagles. Downhill. Less hesitation. I think it helps him when they line him up at TB instead of those pistol formations.

But I didn't think Zeke was being that fast or explosive. Just very downhill.

Zeke looked like he was running with a chip on his shoulder last week. I have to admit though, if l saw 37-10 without seeing the game, l would have guessed he had a much better game. Now comes the biggest test, consistency. We've got two weeks to prepare to the Giants. Lay an egg in that game and it's back to SOS. . .

LOL.........Covington has proved to be the scrub he has always been. Another attempt to hype up a scrub player that is a hole in our starting lineup.

Moore definitely gets honorable mention. May be the biggest and best surprise we could have ever hoped for this year. Coming from the horrid linehan and Garrett, it seems like an entire new offense. Dak is leading the #1 offense in the NFL and having a career year.
