As a coach, I hated going into the bye week with a lose. How will the players respond, too many days off, no game for 2 weeks. Too many questions and not enough answers. All that being said, this is where the so called leaders of the team come into play. Will they head off to Cabo or will they round up the players and stay focused.
From what I see from my recliner, the players seem to be together, too many young ones to let go of the reigns.
Coaching staff needs to do some soul searching and reevaluate their plans, schemes, rotations, coverages, etc. On the other hand today or tomorrow is the perfect time to relieve someone of their duties and put in a different mindset (Eberflus for Rod).

idk if the team is on the same page to contemplate it. for some its just another season.

I'd can Marinelli today. What's the worst that could come from it?

We have a competitive team that isn't 0-5 like the NY Giants. :)

I don't care if the players go to Cabo. They're off for the bye. Always thought the Cabo trip was wwwaaayyy overblown.
Players do that all the time - the perks of being rich.

i dont care either way, just be safe. What you do on your off time is yours.

This year i think they should to celebrate the year. Its over and contemplate their futures as they will get another year older and for some the window closes faster. Some will have to decide if staying in Dallas is worth it. As we saw, you want to be a winner, gotta leave Dallas.

If this staff has soul searched already, it ain't gonna happen now.

Ouch. But it's becoming hard to argue this stance. When Gronk goes down again, does NE need a TE? :)

Wasn't really my point. More of rhetorical situation. They need to prepare extra these two weeks, a lose to the 49ers will be the end of our season. imo

Other than winning the GB game, this is perfect timing. Let them stew in misery for a week. Get Lee back, get Tyron right, get Green right, let everyone focus on what has to happen now. The schedule is brutal; that's what happens when you win with a last place schedule and now play a first place schedule. That's what happens when you suffer key injuries and lose 2/5's of our OL and 4/5's of your secondary and replace them with rookies, most of whom have been hurt most of preseason and parts of the regular season, including the key 2nd round CB who can't get his hammy right.

Give them two weeks to realize that they must finish 8-3 to have a realistic chance at the playoffs. This young, injured secondary and thin LB corps will be challenged, but it is what it is.
