Pump the brakes he's playing alright thus far...Rookie Anthony Brown has been the best player on our defense surprisingly.
I don't know about best but he is playing good
And he's a rookie so he should get even better
Mo is playing very good too but he is a vet and is suppose to be playing good

This dude keeps getting better and better. Might be a top 3 safety by next season, if not by the end of this season. His tackling ability and athletic aptitude jumps off the screen! Another great pick folks!!!
his flexibility is unbelievable...we saw his amazing value first hand in that GB game...plays safety (single high, which allows Church to roam near LOS and make plays) and this covers slot after Mo goes out and shuts it down!!! the dude is the key to the overall improved secondary play!

Our secondary has been unbelievable. I really hope we end up extending Mo and keep him here longterm, eventually extend B-Jones once his rookie deal is up, keep Church around as long as he keeps playing like he is, and eventually move Anthony Brown in as Carr's replacement as the other starting corner. Crazy how we suddenly seemed to fix our secondary when it was probably our biggest weakness as recent as last season. This defense is literally a healthy Jaylon Smith and an above average pass rusher (Randy Gregory if he ever gets his crap together?) away from being great.

Yes, but I would like to see some interceptions from him eventually. I am figuring that interceptions will be difficult to come by as long as the pass rush struggles.

I am enjoying the fact that we are having this argument. Kudos to all of the secondary players.

Brennaman called Jones out for getting beat multiple times in the game only to be saved by a bad throw from Rodgers.

I would love to see some of those athletic breakups turn into athletic INTs. It almost looks like he's going for the breakup instead. Like going for an INT isn't even on his mind.

I don't think getting a INT is as easy as it looks. Byron just makes those deflections look rather easy.

Not saying they are easy, but two of his deflections Sunday looked like passes he could have potentially gotten two hands on. It's not the 1st time I've noticed it either.

At least he's improved seeing the ball in the air. There were multiple times last year he lost location of the ball and it went right by him, that catch Jarvis Landry had on him last year was really bad.

I still think he's too inconsistent for me to praise him.

Much like Romo and Dak, it's not a contest. These guys are all team mates last time I checked. They are all good and Brown deserves his own thread as well. Oscan is expendable now!

Yes excellent point! The media is overblowing this issue on whether Dallas should start Dak or Romo. To Dak it really doesn't matter and he has mentioned many times that this is Romo's team. He is out there to help the team win and that there really is not controversy whatsoever.

While I do agree with you, I believe that will come with pressure. Right now, the pressure isn't there to cause an INT, and really most INTs are caused by a combo of coverage AND pressure.

Happy with how they are playing, really lights out for as little pressure as they are getting up front. I was hoping for more from DLaw, but that remains to be seen.

In the first few games Byron looked lost a bit (Church was lining him up telling him what to do) and seemed somewhat inconsistent but he has definitely settled in the S position and is playing outstanding football right now particularly in pass coverage right now.

I really think he will continue to get better and he has such range and versatility, I really like the player.

His development as a safety was hampered by having to play two positions last year. Now that they've let him focus on safety, he's developing really well.

Of course he did. He had a "what's wrong with Aaron Rodgers" media agenda to push. So he pretended that the WR beat Jones a few times so he could show everyone how Aaron Rodgers didn't throw a perfect pass.

The time in the end zone was the only time Jones made a bad read and could have given up a catch.
They don't show all (or any) of the times that Rodgers couldn't throw it towards jones because Jones blanketed his man. When Rodgers was standing in the pocket for 8 seconds why do you think he hadn't thrown it sooner? Not because Rodgers is bad..,,but because the coverage was that good.

when I see a Cowboys DB keep pace with a receiver, look back and find the ball, and then bat it away I just about pass out every time
In years past that would be like seeing a UFO. The DB coaches have done a great job in their new roles.
