We picked Jones in the first round. Giants picked Collins in the second round pick number 1.
Jones was a corner which we turned to safety and Collins was a safety and plays that position for the giants in the NFL. They both play pretty good. Collins around the line of scrimmage and Jones spend most of his time covering TE's one on one or the deep part of the field.

I would of love to had been able to get Collins in the 2nd round. Heck I would of traded our 2nd and 3rd rounder for him.....of course with hindsight being 20/20 lol. Randy Gregory and Chaz Green for Landon Collins is a no brainer so far.

Lets hope Heath can make us proud. I'm actually intrigued with Xavier Woods though. He impressed me vs the Rams. Too bad he was injured and didn't play no more in preseason. But he is back healthy and seem to play with instincts.

Jones has been very solid. He's the best man-to-man cover guy on the roster. He's just not a high-level ballhawk.

I'm sorry I just can't forgive him for his busted plays. The biggest being the 3rd and 20 to a no name TE in the freaking playoffs last year. Landon Collins bats that ball down or picks it off.

Jones has zero awareness on the field. Zero. He is a gym rat in a football uniform. Collins is a freaking football player.

Landon Collins is a game changing player. One of the best defensive players in the league.
Jones is a guy that seems hesitant and looks out of place at times.
I like Jones but i cant pretend these 2 are in the same league at this point in their careers.

Five spots after Byron Jones, another safety Landon Collins was selected. Collins is a DPOY candidate and has 6 career INTs.

In the 2nd round, three spots after Randy Gregory another DE, Frank Clark was selected. Clark has 13 career sacks.

A littler perspective is needed when we dissect the hell out of a clip of Gregory running down a RB 7 yds down the field or when we fawn over Jones' versatility. Both players are getting severely outplayed by lesser picks at their same position.

surprisingly many in there said they would still take jones. :lmao:

That wasn't busted coverage. We were playing zone--and he respected his zone. That's on the passrush. If you play zone and give AR time, he's going to beat it.

Collins is on another level, but it's not realistic to hold Jones to those standards just because Collins was picked after him. Let's put it this way: If Taco turns into the Byron Jones of DEs, we'll all be very happy with him.

The entire league missed on Landon Collins. If anyone realized how good he was going to be, he'd have gone top 5.

Collins is a straight up beast. I'd love to have him.

Jones is underrated in Dallas for whatever reason, though. He's a good player, and I wouldn't be shocked if he even ends up being the better S of the two when their careers are said and done. I'd be surprised, but not shocked.

Hate the Giants with a passion but Collins is just one heck of a football player, a real game changer. Probably the best defensive player in our division. No comparison at all between him and Byron, we reached trying to make a Belichick type pick.

I would say he's been borderline, leaning over the Bust Cliff now.
This is it for him.

He's been a top 2-4 player on the defense. The coaches love him. PFF loves him. He only looks like a bust to fans whose only measure of DB play is INTs.

This will be his first year playing safety in obvious passing situations, by the way. Many who bash him don't seem to realize that. I'm excited to see what he can do, or if someone will step up and take that role.

Landon Collins should've been NFL Defensive player of the year last season.

Until Collins, no player had ever had at least 100 solo tackles, two sacks, five interceptions and 12 passes defended in the same season

Hate to say, but there is no comparison. Collins all day. Hope Jones can make up some ground this year.

He was defending a zone. Hence the term zone defense. There are holes in every zone coverage. Every single time. If you give a great QB enough time, he's going to find them.
