:lmao2:How many games has it been since he's been "playing well". How many times have he been burnt? How long has he been on this team. Wasn't he supposed to be "all world". Ive had about enough. I've moved on.

I know it seems amusing, Sportsbabe, but it can be argued that currently Mo is the best DB in the secondary. That counts for something.

I think Cory would do very well in Jones role. If FS is the route they are going to go, I say play him there full time because in White you have the luxury of a guy who should be able to fill Jones role of cover TE's as well or almost as well

Corey White is the slot CB.

Jones has more length and super jumping ability to challenged TEs that are 6-5, 6-6.

The Cowboys roster listing has White at 6-1 but he is actually 5-11 and Jones is listed at 6-0 but is 6-1. Also Jones has a little more arm length and bigger hands. The NFL roster listings are rarely correct but the draft measurements are accurate.

What I would prefer is to see White replace Carr against 2 WR sets and then move back to slot CB against 3 WR sets.

Re-watch the last game. They subbed him in for whole series in place of Wilcox on some series and Church on others, so he got quite a few snaps at Safety and looked the part. The aforementioned pass break up was a play that he made from the safety position.

Yes, based on the snap count data, there were a total of 25 snaps between Church and Wilcox where they were not on the field. Heath played 3 snaps; therefore, Jones with 40 total snaps on defense probably played 22 snaps at Safety with his remaining snaps at his hybrid role of TE coverage specialist (He replaces a LB on those snaps).

Double checking it appears there were 18 snaps when they had 6 DBs on the field which is exactly the difference between Jones total snaps 40 and the snaps where it appears he played Safety 22. Normally that would be in place of a LB; however, with the 3 man line formation that they've been using a LB replaces a DL so they can still have 3 LBs and an extra DB on the field in that formation.

Thanks for the data, really clears up the picture.

It depends on how easy you (not YOU...but you in the generic) are to fall back in to that false sense of security. I'm not the one. Like I said....all these 2ndry guys have had ample opportunity. I've been done with all of them. That's the next phase of the rebuild. BJ has kicked it off.

I'm not one either Sportsbabe. MO is still being evaluated in my eyes. He has gone far too long milking his benefit. I need to see plenty more from a former #6. I like what I see but I am watching with a critical eye.

In this we are in agreement. Mo is far from a sure thing but he is doing at least his share of the work in the secondary.

I don't feel secure but I want to upgrade Carr, Patmon, Church, and Heath first. I think White, Claiborne, and Wilcox can contribute on an NFL roster. Carr would be okay if he was making half that much but he has been stealing money since he got here.

Depending on what we do with Claiborne (resign or not?) and Jones (FS or CB?) it'll be interesting what we do in the draft. Despite being a leader, I don't think they view Church as a long term solution. Jones is definitely a long term answer, but the question is where? If he becomes the FS of the future, we can go CB early again. Or maybe even if he does become FS, we resign Claiborne and go with Scandrick and Claiborne as our starters. I think they can be a decent duo. Then maybe we don't address the secondary at all early in the draft. Or maybe we do address the secondary but we target a SS if we don't think Wilcox is a long term solution either. Secondary is definitely the biggest question mark next year. I'd prefer to figured it out this season and addressed QB early next year.

Very logical. I like it. However, I would prefer to get a QB as well in this draft so he can have a full year of tutelage under Romo.

Looking forward to the rookie growing as a player, and I think he has a chance to be a decent centerfielder, but its a shame Church will miss the Hawks game. Run defense is a key to this one, it would be nice to have him available at least.

A couple of years ago, I would agree with your point, but Church's tackling ability has dropped off quiet a bit. I think age is starting to show to the point that his physical liabilities are now being exposed. Pure effort has kept him as a starter much like the former Cowboy Bill Bates. Make no mistake, I am not saying that Church was half the player that Bates was, but both players relied more on effort than their limited talent. Church's play has made declined to the point that an upgrade is needed. An upgrade with speed would be nice.

Church ain't been making no tackles. (Bad English intended.)

He'll do a fine job at safety but If rather they keep moving him around more.
