Cowboys have some tough calls. In the next year or 2, we have to make decisions on Dak, Zeke, DLaw, Jaylon, and now Byron. We can't afford to keep all of them at market rate contracts. I know which one Risen Star is showing the door. lol

So the first possible franchise tag would be the 2020 offseason.
But yea, I'm on the wait and see camp with Jones, or at least not wanting Jerry to lock him up now.

Figure any long term deal would start in the 15-16 mil range if he does keep this up for a year/year +

They do, you are right. This is why it's so hard to watch a team, that I believe has enough talent to win, just go .500 and not take advantage of opportunities. Windows man.

Out of those guys I think we'll have to find a replacement for Collins, who may price himself out of here.
Lee will probably retire or take a cheaper deal IMO.
Hurns is gone in 19.
Heath will want trillions lol. Probably re-sign.
Not sure what to make of Collins(Maliek). Talented but has glass feet.
Gregory we'll find out if he can stay clean/show that potential into a reality.
Most of the rest seem like guys who will get churned out regardless.

I agree. FA isn't as whacky as the NBA was a few years back but every year a new bar is set for the "top" FAs. Worthy or not. If they believe Jones is the real deal, lock him up in 19 and use his 5th year to spread out the hits. IIRC same thing we did with Martin.

Cause with the Donald and Mack deals, you know Lawrence demands jumped up.

Tank is the only one we have to deal with now
But it’s gonna be some tough ones
I suspect jones and Jaylon are signed when their time comes
Zeke has a 5th year option and I think it’s likely he’s tagged a year and then let walk
Dak I think the jury is still out, as of now I haven’t seen enough to make a starter type offer
