I know he is not a great QB, but I do think he is ideal for a back up (much much better than last years situation). Will he cost too much, or has this been discussed and I missed it.

I think he would be an OK backup QB compared to what we have now. I do have one issue with him. He is known to become very negative. I think it's time we clear that type of garbage out of the locker room.

Anyone would be an upgrade to Brad. Lefty would be a good choice my only concern is his slow release and that's not the most mobile QB. That said I'd be surprised if he left Pitt.

Agree... That's why Del Rio had to outright cut him, because he knew he wouldn't or couldn't handle being a backup.

Besides, this league is so QB-poor, some bottom feeder may give him a chance to start.

There are some starting opportunities out there for Leftwich. Unless he gets ignored like he did last year, I see him signing on with a team needing a starter.

Off the top of my head:

KC
Jets, possibly.
Tampa
Bears
Minnesota

I wouldn't be shocked to see him in Detroit.

I say no. His physical tool set is nothing like Romo's so that would mean that when he came in, we would have to completely change the offense. While it's possible to do this, it's usually not very succesful. It's better to be able to bring in a guy who can do some of the same kinds of things so that you don't screw with personel packages or radically change the offense to much. I don't think he would be a good fit but that's just me.

Ugh not that again :puke:

Easy schedule and a great defense got us to the playoffs not QC and his 17tds and 21 ints

To be honest our Defense was far from great.

Yes yes, it was ranked number 1 but once we started playing more talented teams, it was over.

See the 2003 Thanksgiving Game.

Leftwhich would be a GREAT backup, not just a good one, but he wants to start and I think he might get the chance to.

My bet is that he will end up vying for a starting job somewhere next season.

Don't know why he would go from backing up under a good team, to backing up under a bad team unless he feels he has a chance to unseat Romo, which is probably unlikely.
