Byron Leftwich may be on the block, good backup in Dallas or not?

right...he cant beat out David Garrard, but he can beat out Tony Romo

ok

David

All we know about Romo is he's a good backup. What has he shown that leads you to believe he's a legitimate NFL starting QB able to carry this team through 16 games. and the playoffs? You saw how he declined as the year progressed.

Yes, he would beat out Romo especially with 2 healthy legs. He's a proven starting QB, and we don't have that.

he's proven that he's average...

Romo was better than average in his 1st yr as a starter...Leftwich has been the same QB since the day he was drafted...the guy is a borderline bust

He'll probably start somewhere. If I was a team that needed a starter then I'd go after him.

I'm not sure you will find anyone who will agree with you view.

I don't share your optimism on Romo. I'm afraid we saw the real Romo the more he played, and more defenses prepared for him. I hope he proves me wrong. I buy and sell stocks for a living, and something I look for is how the company performs through various market conditions. Needless to say what I witnessed last year wouldn't make me a buyer. I'll take a consistently average commodity over volatility any day.

Leftwich isn't a backup, he's a starter. If he gets to a team that protects the QB and has the WR's things will be different...

I really don't see him being a back up. Like smarta5150 said, he'll want to start somewhere and I really see no reason why he shouldn't expect that from a team.

Well sometimes you have to wait your turn to start again... he may HAVE to go somewhere and backup for year or so or until starter is hurt or yanked.... see Jeff Garcia

I am not totally sold on Romo but I am more pro than con on him... he has upside..... your analogy is silly though..... so you made alot of Money on Romo when he first became publicly traded... then hit a bear market for a little while... the company restructured itself and is projected to show great dividends.... I say BUY... buy now....

Romo threw more Touchdowns this year than Leftwich has ever thrown in a Single season and Romos 2903 yards in 10 games vs Leftwich's 2941 in 14 is his best season yard wise.

Romo has shown more in 10 games than Leftwich ever has through an entire season.

I would disagree with this statement. If you want to know how and why Romo and the team declined, you need to start looking at the coaching staff and not just the QB. We were outcoached in every aspect of the game starting in December.

IMO we were at our best when we had a kicker that Parcells couldn't trust. He was having to play diffrently than what he was used to. He was playing to win and utilizing our weapons. Exit Vandershank and enter Grammatica and we went back to a more conservative approach.

Leftwich is good when he's healthy but he wouldn't do well in Dallas with our o-line. I like his arm but his mobility is lacking. Romo gives you the better chance to win and keep the play alive..

That decision was made for Del Rio when he was forced out of the lineup to get surgery.

Nobody would be good if the line can't protect. When a QB needs to start running around they start fumbling.
