Signed by Cowboys C. Thornton signs with Cowboys

Can probably go ahead and take 1T out of any mocks, at least early in them. I would still take one, but they probably won't.

Curious to see guaranteed money.

Looking at similar sized defensive player deals:

Derrick Shelby 4/$18m, 7.5 guary
Derrick Johnson 3/$21m, 12m guary

I'd guess 8m guary, so this is mostly a 2/$10m deal?

Can you feel that buddy? Huh? Huh? Huh?

Anyone have a write-up on him?

OURLADS' ANALYSIS:

2011 GUIDE: What Ourlads' Scouting Services said about CEDRIC THORNTON: Southern Arkansas, 6035 309 5.26. Started 22 games in his career. A physical player who gives a good effort and pushes the pocket in the passing game. Disruptive in his play. Sudden first step quickness. Needs to improve his pass rushing technique and improve his hand use, but has the strength to knock an offensive lineman off balance. Did not look out of place at the Senior Bowl. Numbers dropped off in 2010 but has been productive for the past two years. Question instincts and recognition at times. Could see the play develop at this level but will need to digest quicker on Sundays. Aggressive in his play with his long arms and big hands. A developmental player who has measurables but will need to elevate his position skill level. 2009 stats: 80 tackles, 23 1/2 TFL, 8 1/2 sacks. 2010 stats: 52 tackles, 13 TFL, 1 1/2 sacks. Edge speed:left 2.04, right 2.13. OSR:22/25. Fifth/sixth round. (A-34 1/2, H- 10, BP-23, 10-1.83).

Good pure 1 Tech in this scheme. Probably a 2 down player.

DT still on the table Day 1 or 2 in the draft however

That is a must. Thornton is just a part of the fix, they still need to draft playmakers at DT. As Plasticman already stated in another thread, it is more than a one-step process.

Thanks pimpin'

Nice. He's a good two down guy. Price isn't too steep.

Wonder what we are looking at next.

More moves would be needed to sign anyone else, or at minimum before the draft. Even after the restructure of Crawford, I don't think they will have enough space for their draft class at this point.
