Every season there's something that freaking urks me all season long. Last year it was the endless ribbing of Terrell.(the greatest active WR on the planet) :p: This year I have a feeling we're going to sign Caldwell and he will do well until the season is on the line and he will choke yet again. Get your cameras ready for more bug eyed playoff photos. This time he will be outfitted in our world famous Cowboys colors.

La'Roi Glover was cut too. Players get cut sometimes for reasons other than totally sucking.

I'd bring him in for a workout.

Ya, i agree on both counts. If i were looking for speed, i'd bring Az H. in as well.

This is also the same guy who dropped the GO AHEAD TD in that AFCCG against NE last year. He was also the same guy who fumbled toward the end of that game in Philly(when they were driving for the winning TD).

Fuget about it-the guy's a choker, even his EYES show it all!:lmao2:

He's a pretty good receiver and a nice add if TG goes IR soon. Whats the risk - if he's not upgrade cut him.

Exactly and why cant he just be like a #3 or 4 sometimes.some insurance behind Hurd and Crayton.Everyone remember this guy for the drop but besides that one drop he was decent and fast.

No one forgave Terrell's drops but we're supposed to suddenly forgive a 2nd rate journeyman with the dropsies and two healthy hands?

On the real, the one (or three drops) that he facilitated during the playoffs should have been enough to put him under investigation for racketeering. :)

If we do end up signing him as a temporary fix, we can also pick his brain for the week 6 game. Also, he used to play for the chargers which makes a scenario where he comes here more likely. Personally, I like what we have and want to see our WRs abilities.

I think Caldwells style fits what we are losing in TG.

As a #3 to #4 consideration don't see much downside.

I don't get it. With peepers like those, his hand-and-eye coordination should be outworldly...

Glenn is a #1 to #1A Wide receiver. I'm not comparing Glenn to Caldwell.

I am advocating Caldwell as a #3 to #5. He is a very quick receiver and sans that drop, has good hands.

Dallas has talked to his agent.

I don't want crazy eyes on this team ! :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Reche Caldwell-WR-Patriots
Sep. 7 - 10:30 pm et

The Cowboys have contacted the player rep for free agent Reche Caldwell.
Caldwell, the Patriots' leading receiver in 2006, was drafted by the Chargers in 2002 and played against then-coordinator Wade Phillips' defense in practice the last few years. Phillips knows Caldwell's shortcomings, which were much more obvious in San Diego than they were in New England.

it makes sense

we need a vet receiver

Wade is familiar w/ him

Caldwell is coming from a timing-based O, which we run

btw, those pics of him are funny as hell, looks like a comedian who's been stabbed in the back

Wasn't there a story out after that Indy game where he dropped those passes that said he lost a contact or something and it helped explain his drops.

I'm not a fan of Caldwell's because I've never thought he was that good, but those drops in the Indy game were unusual even for him.

If you recall he is the guy who caught the huge 49 yard reception from Brady over Quentin Jammer in the 4th quarter of the San Diego playoff game that set up their winning score.

Good point.

I am not too hot on knocking a guy because he was cut or available. If he can play, lets see.

Sometimes they need a change of scenery.

Mike Singletary made the Hall of Fame being a bug eyed freak but people want to attack Caldwell because of how he looks??

But Singletary looked "scar-ee"... not "scared". Mike = hunter. Caldwell = hunted.
