No thanks, I'll pass on him.. I'd rather have Chris Chambers.

Chris Chambers will cost a draft pick, Caldwell is bascially free.

I go with Caldwell, vet min, if he sucks we dump him. No harm, no foul, and no giving up draft picks.

Thats how Beast rolls:D

I'd place Glenn on the I.R. and sign this guy as your 6th WR.

No. No. No. We keep Glenn on the roster, cut Stanback and sign Caldwell. Get it straight.

Wasn't there a story out after that Indy game where he dropped those passes that said he lost a contact or something and it helped explain his drops.

One wouuld think, that with contacts the size of quarters, they'd be a little easier to find.

He's a pretty good receiver and a nice add if TG goes IR soon. Whats the risk - if he's not upgrade cut him.

Agreed I Cant believe so many people would be so devistated by this pick up.

Hes just a fill in and not a bad one to get this time of year.

We're also not asking him to be our X receiver like New England was last season.

Good point.

I am not too hot on knocking a guy because he was cut or available. If he can play, lets see.

Sometimes they need a change of scenery.
Love the new avatar YM. If he had Clark Kent glasses in his hand it would be perfect.

Now this is a guy I would love to see in Dallas.

I think his contract is a little high and they probably wouldn't give him up for a reasonable price. But your not only getting a reciever.

This guy could punt, return punts, return kickoffs, deep snap, and maybe even throw the ball every once in awhile.
He's kind of like Rudy meets Chuck Norris.:laugh1:

Last year we lost our two top receivers (Branch and Givens) and one of the guys they brought in to fill the gap was Caldwell. Unfortunately as our number one receiver. We also drafted a kid named Jackson -- a guy that barely played due to injuries and not being able to pick up the offensive schemes of the Pats.

Well, it didn't work out that well and the FO of the Pats brought in more WR's than you could shake a stick at. So Caldwell is expendable.

Caldwell is no Terry Glenn. In fact if I were a coach I would have taken Glenn in his prime over TO. You lost a top notch talent in my eyes. But he was getting older and you cannot play the game forever. I always liked Glenn. Always.

That being said Caldwell overall is not a bad WR. In a pinch, it would be a wise move by your FO to bring him in and see if he jells with Romo. I think his overall problem with Brady was that Brady likes timing plays -- OK, be here and the ball will get there. Caldwell seemed to have some problems with that. But he has some speed and overall we cannot complain about his performance considering what was asked of him. Will be interesting to see what your FO will do.

Good luck against the Giants.

Welcome to our board Pats fan.

Thanks for the info, we appreciate it. I would wish you luck as well, but I dont think you need it. The Pats are loaded this year and I would be very surprised if yall dont go 14-2, maybe 13-3 at worst.

Beast is looking forward to that week 6 match-up in Texas Stadium, going to be a great game. :)

You lose all credibility with that one.

Like him or not. TO is a Top #1 WR. Glenn was never.

Love your agenda though

How many "quit plays" do you guys allow before you cut Moss?

Question:Randy you were open for the gamewinning TD - why didnt you reach up and catch the ball?

Answer: I didnt feel like it

What I said is, if I (me) were the coach I would take Glenn over TO. And I mean that 100%. And even though Glenn will not go to the HOF, he had great talent. I saw a few of his catches last year and they were amazing. I'm sticking with my Glenn pick.

As far as Randy, something Brady said makes me think he will be OK. Brady has never had a really good WR while with the Pats. Pretty good, but not Randy good. Brady commented that it was not necessary for Moss to play in the preseason and be ready. He said some players are just smart and can read a defense -- and adjust -- Brady said Randy was one of those. He has nothing but praise for the guy and his locker is right next to Bradys.

Bottom line, I think Welker is our best pickup this year because of the way we play offense, but Randy is going to get his share -- as long as he stays healthy. Will he? Darn if I know. And I don't think you are going to see any attitude problems either. He knows he is entering the twilight of his career with a chance to win, maybe even the big one if we get lucky. And he also knows he is playing for a team that will not tolerate nonsense -- and that comes mostly from the players themselves.

Thanks for the info, Pats Fan. From your scouting report of Caldwell, it's safe to say he will probably fail in Dallas as well since the Cowboys now use a timing base offense.

Just wanted to let you know I pop in here every once in a while. I did so a lot when you had Parcells, Bledsoe, and Glenn. Not so much now, but as our game gets closer it is always fun to go on another fan's board -- but not as an obnoxious troll. And I have a bet with 5 Stars on the outcome of the game. I know I have to pay $20.00 to this message board if I lose -- can't remember what I get if we win. I think 5 Stars plays $20.00 to the message board.

Our big game is week 2 against San Diego. The only question mark with that team is how they will handle all the coaching changes. Don't know, but they have some incredible talent. That game makes me nervous, even being in Foxboro. Our big test.

All games make me nervous.

There is no "show up and win" games in the NFL anymore. You have to be prepared week in and week out. If you take somebody lightly, they will bite you in the arse.

Home field does not even matter either. I think I read that the home team last year won 52% of the time if I am not mistaken. So basically there is no advantage to playing at home, road team wins about the same amount of games basicaly.

See ya week 6 when we open a can on yall (just messing with ya!!!):p:
