I have a feeling that Weeden will not produce for this offense much like we saw last season when he played against the Cardinals. I understand the Arizona is a good team but with limited weapons and not the same running game as last season I think Weeden is very limited as a player.
I think Kellen offers more to us. I think he can not only manage a game but win a game. I don't think Weeden can win us a game.

Having said this I don't see the coaching staff looking at Moore for anything more than an emergency QB but I would look at him over Weeden.

Even if that's true, I can't imagine it'd happen in the next couple of games and maybe even more games than that. So, we better hope Weeden is good enough or we're looking down the barrel of 0-2 or 0-3 before we'd even consider going to Moore and once we did, it ain't like he's going to come in and set the league on fire.

So, it's either Weeden holds down the fort and is at least passable or this season is 100% lost.

Lets all hope we don't need to find out if you are right.

I agree about the coaching staff....however I think Weeden can be alright if we don't expect him to be Romo. He knows the plays and he has the arm. He has some experience also...

I never thought I would say this....But I am not sure Sam Bradford is better than Weeden at this point...haha

Not much of a Weeden fan, but I think a full offseason in this offense should help him immensely.

I don't worry about him making the throws. My concern is when he gets popped a few times, just how rattled he'll become.

Moore could not have thrown that ball to Williams like Weeden did.

In fact, nobody available could have.

only issue is moore has been nothing more than a 3rd string qb

I think (choose to believe) that Weeden will perform much better than he did in the preseason. He will be playing with the first teamers and will have a game plan to work with. Obviously he won't be able to make adjustments at the line or read defenses like Romo can, but he's got a strong arm and can be successful. Hey, if RGIII could fake it for an entire season, why can't Weeden?

I think we'll be okay. My concern is the receivers right now. Romo was forced to use Witten a lot, which says a lot about how our receiving core is doing without Dez as a distraction. Falcons are weak on defense, so if the defense plays well, we may have a shot at that one. Saints have looked bad too. They're not doing well protecting Brees and they dink pass to their RB's to recover (which didn't work for Phili ). We have a shot at being 4-0 if we can limit the mistakes, and continue to play well defensively.

Its time to call it. Which of these is the most likely?

1. Weeden solidifies his spot by keeping the team afloat.
2. They have to go to Moore and he proves to be a solid backup.
3. Both stink and they look elsewhere for a QB.
4. Both stink and they do nothing letting the season get away before Romo can get back.

I'm going with #4.

I suspect that place Tony on the IR to return, so that means he will miss 7 games, returning against the Fins on Nov 22. In that stretch we have:
Atlanta- L
Saints - W
Pats - L
Bye
Gnats-W
Seahawks - L
Eagles-W
Bucks. - W

The Ws are against teams I think we just better than, especially considering we will get Hardy, Greggary, and RoMac back on D. That would put us at 6-3, still leading the divison for when Tony and Dez return. I think we will be fine. Even if we slip up and lose one of the games I have picked as a W, we would be 5-4 and still sitting good for the stretch run. Starting 2 - 0 is huge right now.

When Tony returns:

Fins
Panthers
Skins X2
Packs
Jets
Bills.

We can run the table or only lose 1 of those. Just need Weeden to play 500 ball over the next 8 weeks.

If Moore has to come in and start for any reason. Dallas might as well keep Dez and Romo out for the season. And get one of the first 5 picks in next years draft. Good or bad. Weeden is Dallas' best shot to keep things a float until the cavalry gets back. That and the defense has to be an elite top 5 unit while Romo is out.

Linehan probably prefers Moore because he spent significant time with him in Detroit.

I am pulling for next week against the Falcons too. I think we can win that ball game.

That is what I was thinking too. He reminds me of Romo with a little less zip on the ball and maybe a little more accuracy in the short passing game.
