Calling Stephen McGee

What do you guys think about bringing in Clint Stoerner out of retirement to back up and mentor Rudy? After all, he also lost to the Giants in his first start and might have even played better than Romo last night? It would be a great feel good story of redemption. It'd be a marketing bonanza and a real tear jerker, win or lose.

I like it. Ryan Leaf could be the 3rd qb once he gets out of jail. Then, Jerry can get Quincy Carter to be QB coach.

The movie version would have Rudy taking over mid-season and leading America's Team to the playoffs as Clint mentors him while Ryan and Quincy free base on the sideline during games. Bruce keeps trying to replace Rudy with Chad Hutchinson but Rudy prevails until the end, when our story ends tragically as Rudy bobbles the snap on a game winning kick in the playoff game.

I know this seems slightly unreasonable, but obviously what we need is just a bus driver. We put 250 rushing yards up against a great defense. We obviously can't trust Romo to drive the bus, manage the game and not try to be a hero.

So what do you think about starting McGee and maybe save Romo to come off the bench if it turns out we need a spark, and get behind? We could run a kind of option offense with McGee out there.

No. Jerry does what he always has wanted to do. He walks down to the sideline and rips the headset off Wade mid-game, sends Wade to the showers, and coaches this damn team himself.
