Sitting here reading CBZ and wondering when the electricity goes out. We have a tropical storm incoming to Houston and I live real close to the water.

It is eerily stagnate outside, no wind at all. A few hours ago, we had 35+ winds and now.......nothing!

Stay safe everyone in the area, there will be bad flooding, the ground can't take anymore

I used to live in Galveston a long while back, but still remember that feeling just waiting for it to come in. Hope you're boarded up and stocked up. Stay safe and dry!

No boarding here, relatively small storm but the rain is worrisome. Luckily, we are moving back to Cali on Friday so about 60% of our stuff is gone. I am sure that we will flood in this one, the last few rainstorms brought the water up to the door because the ground is so saturated.

Things not bad right now as storm is still off shores, made it into work and now just hoping to be able to leave Downtown Houston before the bayou's start to flood.

True but we are on the dirty side of the storm which can produce high winds and a lot of rain which we can't take too much more. Only a couple of weeks ago that the city experienced heavy flooding and now here comes a tropical storm

Right now things are ok, that can still change quickly when the rains come. Myself I made sure I was at work today because of the chance of flooding by tomorrow as expected heavy rains are still too come.

Right now things are ok, that can still change quickly when the rains come. Myself I made sure I was at work today because of the chance of flooding by tomorrow as expected heavy rains are still too come.

Yup but the storm looks to be hitting Corpus, so we won't see near as much rain. That puts the dirty side just SW of Freeport.

Yeah, Texas soil is hyper-saturated in lot of place. Be careful down there.

Yup but the storm looks to be hitting Corpus, so we won't see near as much rain. That puts the dirty side just SW of Freeport.

Once it makes landfall it will make a move to the east and north. So again not out of the woods by any means and given how saturated the ground is in Houston it will not take much to cause major problems.

Yea, it won't take much. But, as it looks now, Dallas will get more rain than Houston according to the current track. It will go up I35 then turn right over DFW.

Maybe the storm will detour as I35 up here is under construction.

Sure it could be worse, just stating we are not out of the woods and looks of how thing are not can be very deceiving. By later today heavy rains will hit Houston as the storm makes landfall. We are still expecting 6 to 8 inches over the next 2 days and possibly more and will not take much to cause major flooding.
