Calm Down!

I think it'll be interesting to see if this organization is able to regroup from a loss that was probably inevitable. We aren't what we thought we were. It seems obvious that adjustments are in order. The entire team, the coaching staff and the FO must respond to a pressing problem. McCarthy and his staff should roll up their sleeves to turn this around. Will they? We're about to find out!

The coming week should reveal exactly what sort of adjustments our collective resources can implement to respond. No question that there's much work to do by the organization as a whole. The OL's woes will continue if adjustments aren't forthcoming. The defense isn't exempt, from responding, either. It's time for this team to pull together. Here's hoping they will do just that. o_O

After 25 years of futility and ineptness what do you expect? Plus the fact that there are some key issues that have to be resolved . Why weren't they prepared to move Dak around and get him out of the pocket? Anytime you're starting with a brand new left tackle you've gotta plan for the worst. Why didn't special teams know you never touch a punt? And why did Mike McCarthy stand there looking like an ogre for the whole game appearing not to do anything? I swear he should buy a ticket, beer and a hot dog.

Oh and Dak is having a arm problem IMO

And the Saints beating Tampa with a back up last week. Green Bay getting smoked week one, **** happens. I would’ve be disappointed if we played a good game and lost.
what kind of reasoning is that? You would have been disappointed if we played a good game and lost... so it doesn't disappoint you that they played an awful game and lost? So if they just play awful for the remainder of the year you will be a happy fan... That just sounds like more battered cowboy fan syndrome, having no hope is better than having hope and losing...

Exactly, and even our best teams apparently had a game every now and then like this. Let's see the response.
I've seen most of the games for many many years and I don't recall many games like this were every facet of the team stunk as bad as today, especially from any of the SB winners... now there were some losses and some bad games but there was always something that worked, in this game there was absolutely NOTHING that worked.
The 92 team did lose to a very good Eagles playoff team on the road but at least in that game the receivers caught passes and our pass D was ok, they just ran the ball down our throats and Troy had a terrible game.
We will see how this team response, that 92 team came back and trounced the Seahawks the next week.

I know we are upset with what happened today. That said, let's take a moment to calm down.

1stly, it's only our 2nd loss this season. Stop acting like we're 4-4. We're 6-2 and still in control with the division.

2nd. The Bucs carry 2 losses and are on a bye, the Packers trail thirteen nil and KC has the ball, and the Cards are up, but we play them later this season. As such, no harm appears to be done with the standings with this loss.

3rd. The loss was to an AFC team. No tiebreakers are impacted. Again, no harm done.

4th. The Broncos are a good team. They had a couple unlucky losses this season, but the team shouldn't be shunned as a lowly team.

5th. All great teams go through a bad match or two. What matters is how they respond. Let's see what we do next week.

As such, let's settle down. No time to panic.

Good post. I think a lot of the (fan) angst is down to the inflated expectation based on the undeniable improvement (over 2020) and a belief that we need the no.1 seeding.

If the Denver game is an example of how we play at home (and Vikings/Buccs (away) then you could argue there's no real advantage of us playing at AT&T. As for the bye week, the lead we have in the East, could result in most of our starters rested (or played sparingly) in Wk 17/18.

As with the 4th down attempts in the 1st Q I think we have an acceptance that our game plan is: get a lead, work the clock and force errors out of the oppositions O.

If the opposition's allowed to do that to us we're stuffed, I think Tank coming back (as well as Tyron and Zeke) will steady the ship.....hopefully.
