Calvin Watkins: Cowboys are expected to interview Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn

The worst part….whoever is hired will not be about who is most qualified, but about whoever will work cheap….and a huge “win the SB bonus” for a team that doesn’t use free agency to improve.

The next coach is absolutely destined to fail unless major FO changes are made, and considering they think they are doing a great job, I wouldn’t expect that.
Agreed. Between the new "coach", the sub par drafts, Dak's whole deal, limited free agents, and both our division and the conference improving especially at QB....we are in for a very dark 3-4 years minimum.

This is me vs. Calvin Watkins.

He's telling you they plan on interviewing Ben Johnson. I'm telling you they're not.

Watch and see who is right. Then please compliment me when I am.

Lol comparing Goff to Duk is like comparing apples to oranges. Goff has always had an arm, he has grown each and every year. Duk has never had to through trial of actually putting a lesser team on his shoulders and playing above expectations. Essentially Duk sucks
cool story,

Yeah, right. I believe this as much as us having "honest interest" in any FA of worth. Jerry will wait until around the Super Bowl to announce Kellen Moore or Zimmer.

I want to hear from multiple sources that this is the plan. Don’t buy it right now

Why would interviewing for a head coaching job in the NFL not look good on your resume as a coach?

Because their resume as is, is already good enough to make Johnson the most sought after coach and Glenn not far behind him. It’s obviously a compliment if these guys get interviews anywhere including here- but forgive some if they dont think these interviews ever happen and this is lip service

In case you forgot, Glenn and JWitt were teammates for few years. So, it's possible Glenn might be more open to having Witt on his staff than other candidates.

THIS... is why

Discernment = Good

Healthy Skepticism = Good

Don't just swallow anything.

And Watkins should now be on your "requires extra teasing out his words" list.

I think they should have at least talked to him but he was never coming here…part of his requirement was alignment with him, ownership and the gm. He was never ever getting that here

The point remains...

Watkins tip-toed up to the line. He didn't lie. "They are expected to blah blah blah" kept him safely on the side of plausible truth.

Lesson learned, though?

*exhales*

He was never going to come here. Although, pretty telling that they had no interest in even to talk to one of the last years hottest coordinators. They had no interest. No Johnson may not be a head coach. We will see. Although, not even having interest in talking to him speaks volumes.
