cam jordan senior bowl

He looked like a 3-4 DE to me. He has some moves and uses his hands well but didn't seem to explode off the ball as well as expected. Also seemed to wear down and/or not be quite as fast/quick as advertised.

Just my observations though.

you mean he played ?

I thought after all the talk he was the next big thing

I never heard his name

:laugh2:

I didn't see him but I sure liked what I saw from Phil Taylor... ONE play especially when he simply manhandled the guard/center and tossed him like a little rag doll, that's boys and girls is a MAN!

He played alright.

This is why 4 years of film probably shouldn't overrule one week of one on one drills.

The way he was getting talked about around here, you were half expecting him to rack up 10 sacks in the senior bowl alone.

Life gets a little more difficult when you're not just going against one guy, and there's trash to get through and the threat of the run.

He played just fine.

One play I remember right off the top is when he left OG Danny Watkins on the ground as he went around and got the sack (or RB for a loss...don't remember).

I also watched a player who showed hustle chasing down plays that got past the LOS.

Folks need to keep in mind, in the Senior Bowl there is NO BLITZING or STUNTING, it's four defensive linemen against five offensive linemen. Let me say that again, 4 DL against 5 OL...

So if you were expecting Cam Jordan to part the offensive line apart like the Red Sea snap after snap, you need to reconsider parameters in which these guys are allowed to play.

If I heard it correctly, the cornerbacks weren't allowed to even press unitl the offense was within five-yards of the endzone.

Jordan didn't stand out but he did play solid. Most of the South's success running the ball was either going away from him or when he wasn't in the game.

Phil Taylor actually had two dominant plays, there was the one mentioned above where he ate Watkins's lunch (not a sack though) and another where he collapsed the pocket leading to the Arizona kid Reed getting a sack (Mayock missed it, he wondered why Stanzi didn't climb the pocket to help his tackle out: he couldn't, there was nowhere to step up).

This!

I'd love to get both C Jordan and P Taylor, but that's probably overkill considering the holes on the OL and Secondary.

What about the lineman from UNC? I think he was from there. Supposedly he was a man beast in drills.
