-I can see a HB added in some way shape or form after the SD game. Alot of that depends on the health of McFadden and Dunbar at that point. I dont know if they go vet or camp body

- The more camp progresses and the more I hear, the more im convinced Jones will be a Haden Class CB. He's got the head the go toe to toe VS elites WR's.

- Playing VS Hardy and Gregory could have Tyron primed for a career year. Two different type of rushers that Smith has handled very well. Ive heard that there has been improvement in Gregory's angles. He needs to keep that up, but unless Hardy gets redused again, Gregory is going to be a key player the first quarter of the season.

- Damien Wilson has me feeling pretty good about our ability to replace injurd starters this year. Given Lee and McClain's issues staying healthy, he could see 600-800 snaps

- Leary has the clear edge right now with Collins but he hasnt closed him out. I still think this goes to the wire

- With some talk of Wilcox struggling, I wonder if White makes a late push at FS if Wilcox struggles in preseason

Could turn out to be one of their most useful picks this year. Broaddus has been talking him up.

What do you mean, you don't get the hype? He's played corner primarily during TC and has excelled. What's not to "get?"

I think people want him to be a FS, which I dont really understand. Yes he can play Safety, but his talents are more suited to CB and it was at CB not Safety that got him drafted in the firsr round.

I think if any CB makes a push at FS, it will be White

Thats why I think we wait untik after the SD game if we bring anyone in. It will give them a chance to see what Johnson and Seatrunk can do in a live game

I don't get the Jones hype at corner nor do I want him there.

I wouldn't be surprised if we brought in another back after cuts. I actually expect it, unless McFadden can have a healthy push, of which i am doubtful.
I keep hoping the Bears release Forte, making him a cap casualty. Very slim chance, but they do have a couple backs and Forte's salary cap figure is pretty high.

Jones was actually the guy I was fully expecting us to take with our pick, and a guy I really liked before the draft. No I don't watch tape. But all his reports basically said the same thing, "hard working, super intelligent, football guy" and he has incredible measurables. He allowed some ridiculously low passer rating against him as well, so he knows how to play the position. There are certain attributes that can improve your odds of success in this league, the "RKG" (and for the last time this doesn't mean boy scouts), and he was a great fit. I have little doubt that he'll blossom into a solid #1, or at worst #2 for us, with a chance of becoming a very intelligent FS if we can get some more CB depth in the near future.

I wouldn't be surprised if Tyron was first team All-Pro this year. Locking him into that contract might be Jerry's best individual move in the last decade.

I don't question this team's ability to evaluate LB talent anymore, especially in the middle rounds. Late rounds are a complete crapshoot, as with every position. But, bringing in Durant/McClain and drafting Hitchens, who was overwhelmingly underrated by many here (except me. many of whom still refuse to accept the fact that the guy is indeed a player.) and turned out to be a fantastic 4th round pick, gives me little doubt that Wilson will be at the very least, solid depth. He's got incredible length, one of the highest in this years draft at LB, great explosion, and was a playcaller at Minnesota because of his football intelligence. He'll be a much better player than Cameron Lawrence or some of the other names that saw too many snaps.

Pre-season isn't over yet, but it looks like Leary will take the job. How nice is it if Martin/Leary get banged up, we can have a guy that was a unanimous first round pick as depth?

I had high hopes for Wilcox this year. He did play better last year, when it was like his 3 year at the position. But it seems like he's regressed. I wouldn't be surprised if they start playing Wilcox at SS and White at FS. Wilcox is an underrated open field tackler, he was downright impressive on some of his angles last season (lions game aside) taking down ballcarriers.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Gregory/Lawrence in the pre-season. Supposedly Mincey is looking better too, more explosive. Probably because he knew that he'd have to come in and compete against 3 legitimate pass rushers. Competition, always a good thing.

I really don't know the last time i've been so amped for a season.

Thomas Rawls is a guy I think we scoop up post cuts. I dont think Seattle keeps 4 and I dont think they cut or trade Sparq Superstar Christine Michael. We had Rawls for 2 minutes before he signed with Seattle, I think he could be a good ying to Randles yang

Wilcox has the position now, but a couple bad preseason games, and I believe they will start to consider White there.

I think Mincey opens up the season as our 2 down RDE and moves inside for Gregory in pass rush situations. Dont know how that will shake out when Hardy comes back, but its a good problem to have. I dont think Lawrence moves at all from LDE and I think he could be a matchup nightmare for RT's. I think he is a legit RDE going up against weaker OT's and he could be primed for a big year

The only thing stopping Collins from taking that job is experience and reps. His movement skills for his size are special.

It will happen at some point, and with Leary injuring his back it may happen sooner than we think. He looked really good today working with the 1s.

Garret and Stephen Jones said ever since the draft, Jones position may be somewhat determined by Mo. If Mo recovers and steps up and plays like they think he can. Then they move Jones to FS a bit more.
But for this year, to start out, Jones will be at CB. Once and if he moves to FS, then Wolcox and Church are basically the same type of player, and will compete for SS. they both can play up in the box more, as they are hitters. Jones then can play a true FS position in coverages.

So, for all you Mo haters that want Jones at FS, you should root for Mo, and not want him off the team because he didn't live up to YOUR expectations...yet...

I think they will wait until after the SD game also, as been said, see where McFadden and Dunbar are in returning to practice and go from there. As they will also have a little better idea about Seastrunk and Johnson.
Then they decide if to churn or not.
