well i do agree he was phenomenal against TO but look at the stat sheet, TO still had a ton of catches and yards.

WHAT??? :bang2: Phenomenal..........but with a ton of catches and yards.
Sorry fella.....That's poor in my book.

Ended TO's Monday night touchdown streak. 7 catches for 112 yards is pretty pedestrian for TO... especially if you consider he was thrown to at least twice that many times.

In the same vein as Reality's comment, if Roy starts missing lots of tackles, he'll get criticized.

A cornerback's job is to prevent completed passes. A safety's job is to be a safety net (hence the name safety) in case the cornerbacks, linebackers and defensive line do not do their job.

It's much harder to fault a player whose job is to backup other positions when they wouldn't have had to back them up had the other positions done their job.
You need to stop, you are making to much sense. :D

Poorly thrown to................And I'm sure the constant blitz pressure had nothing to do with it as well as the dropped balls. There were other instances where TO was open and not thrown to.
Man.......I'm sounding like a TO homer here!!! DeAngelo is a good one. But From what I saw he's getting way more credit than deserved AND I'd take Newman any day ........and twice on Sunday as CBZ says.
As for the Monday night TD streak.......You can take those types of "milestones" and stash them with the WWF memorabilia. They don't mean squat.

Hey, I was just making a point. I disagree that the Monday night streak meant nothing, I bet it meant alot to ME OH. Did you catch a glimpse of him on the sidelines as the game winded down? Looked like someone stole his blanket.

Deangelo did a good job, if our corners do the same, I'll be satisified.

Roy makes a heck of lot more plays than not so he earns the right to get a pass when he misses a few. As a corner in the NFL you're mistakes are gonna be magnified no matter who you are. A lot of casual fans do not understand defensive schemes and such, so Newman will sometimes get blamed in situations when he really wasn't totally at fault. In short.......Roy is better at his position at this point than Newman is at his.

A pointless one at that.

100+ yards, for 1 receiver mind you even TO, is not a good job. Our levels of expectations are vastly different. But thats cool.
TO did have the pouty lip thing going on.
Someone did steal his blanket....The Eagles owner. I say right on to that.

Roy celebrates on his tackles because football is a game that has to be played with emotion. And there have been a lot of times over the last couple of years where the defense needed more emotion. I think Roy tries to supply it.

How many other teams leave TO manned up one on one all night? I can't remember the last time I saw that consistently through a game. Considering those circumstances, I'd say Hall did a respectable job. I think he managed to get in TO's head and if you can keep a TO or Moss out of the end zone playing one on one defense for 60 minutes, you're a good cornerback.

Hey now....respectable I can handle...... with a lot of mitigating circumstances.
