His analysis is so bad and his delivery on camera makes me cringe.

I think he is top notch, better than most.

Jaws is a Homer and he seems like the guy at a party that tries to fit in and act cool but really just looks like a dork.

HOWEVER...His break down segments are one of the better things on ESPN IMO.

If he just stuck with that it would be the best thing.

It used to be I couldn't get enough sports or Cowboys info.
I used to subscribe to the Dallas Cowboys Weekly, and that was all I had.

Then ESPN came along, USA Today, etc. and I ate it all up, thinking how great it was to have all of the inside scoop.

Now with the internet, and all of the sports shows on TV, etc., I am just getting sick of the 'information overload'.

Guys like Jaws and the rest of them are OK, some are better than others, but I am just getting tired of all of the spin, opinions, lies, speculation, hype, etc.

But it is like trying to quit smoking or stop using drugs or something for me, ... I know I don't want to listen to the garbage any more, but I can't stop.

I try, and I am successful for a while, and then I watch again and am disgusted with what I see, and disgusted with myself for watching the crap yet again.

All I really care about any more lately is the game itself, ... I don't care what the talking heads have to say about it before the game any longer.

Wish me luck as I try to free myself from this addiction. :laugh1: :laugh1:

I've always liked Jaws as an analyst; love the way he breaks down the plays and the QBs. He was a good QB for the Eagles & believe took them to the SB with Vermeil as head coach. I think he's funny and his voice doesn't bother me at all and don't see any stiffness about him.

He is definitely a homer when it comes to the Eagles and always sees them capable of winningno matter what the odds. He's definitely not Aikman cause he unable/unwilling to be objective. He's also got a wry sense of humor, which isn't unlike Aikman's. I have some impression somewhere that these 2 are pretty good friends. Both are class guys.

My problem with Jawarski is his smug know it all attitude. He is the master of telling you why something happened but ALWAYS takes the tone as if to imply that he knew all along that things would work out that way. Well he makes plenty of mistakes, esp when forced to make a prediction about something. He said Akili Smith was the best QB from the year McNabb, Culpepper etc came out. He said Vince Young shouldnt play for his first TWO years because he wasnt ready. Just remember to write it down whenever Jaws (or any of the talking heads [esp Bayless])says something bold ,so you can call them on it when it turns out wrong.

His forced smile is so cheesy - I think his delivery is ridiculous - BUT, I have to agree with those who are saying he delivers thoughtful analysis.

I think you meant Cliff Clavin, the mailman from Cheers, but I got your point. :laugh2:

Jaws is a homer, but he knows his stuff. As analysts go, I hate Collin Cowherd, his radeo show is junk and he has got be one of the biggest hypocrits ever. He bashes Florida for weeks saying they had an easy schedule and wasn't destroying teams, saying Michigan should get he rematch because they were the true #2. When Florida gets selected he start bashing Michigan supporters saying Florida beat more quility teams and Michigan already had their chance. Those are the type of ESPN guys I can't stand, Jaws homerism is kinda overboard at times {QB's and Eagles} but he atleast knows what he's talking about most of the time.

seriously? I love john clayton.

I think he's by far the best football guy ESPN has.

Most of them have schtick, he always seems neutral to me. Much like Gosselin, when I hear Clayton on the radio I'll usually listen.

He's definately better than that phony "expert" Kiper.

Holy Cow! I'll have to watch Clayton more closely and re-evaluate,,, because I've always found that guy's opinions shallow and worthless tabloid crap. Zero-insight. yikes.

Jaws seems to be much more of a homer this year, much more confrontational,,, almost like the producers have told the analysts to mix it up more for ratings. Either way, Jaws breaks down tape better than most and actually offers up some knowledge. I value his opinions and forgive him for his Iggle homer comments. C'mon, his claim to fame was as a star iggle QB,,, ya gotta cut him a little slack!
