Can anyone give examples of how Garrett improved his playcalling?

Just curious. We won the game 44-7, so it must be because the play calls have changed dramatically, since Garrett has been doing such a poor job this season.

Or perhaps, our execution level today was phenomenal. Our run blocking was great, and Romo had time in the pocket. It's as simple as that.

80% of the time, the gripes with playcalling are a joke.

I was wondering if there was a board meltdown in the game thread when Garrett took Murray out of the game inside the 10 on our second TD drive.

I don't participate in the chat or game thread while the game is on.

A now healthy QB, now featured RB and improving OL.

Those who criticize Garrett's play calling couldn't/can't see the forest for the trees.

He didn't give up on the run today. He tried to stay balanced.

He's gone to more of a zone scheme. Earlier in the year he was forcing power runs (something our team can't do).

He didn't get overly cute in the redzone.

Biggest thing in his favor though was the scoring from big plays.

Garretts weaknesses have never really been between the 20's.

If you could see my grin.

I just like that we are turning into what we should be. A run/play action football team. I think we just ran the ball consistently and Bryant and Holley made good catches early on in the game. Tony did a good job of spreading the ball around also which helps.

I don't know that I would overlook the fact that we have a solid runner that has opened up passing lanes for us.

Pretty much this. Coupled with him trusting Tony to make throws down the field and trusting Dez to beat his man on the bomb.

Moreso than anything, though, we forced Buffalo to respect the run and used the run to set up the pass. Offensive line played great and kept Tony upright.

Now that our offensive line is starting to get things going on the ground, I suspect we'll see a lot less offensive woes. We're going to be amazing next year when we draft Peter Konz.

When he has a productive running game, he'll maintain the balance. When he doesn't, he's not going to keep running into a wall and waste half his snaps.

I don't know why this concept is so foreign to some people.

Nope.. Fire him.. the Cowboys should hire the best offensive coordinator in the NFL who's been sitting around just waiting for their phone call.

Look at the Murray TD. That should give you a clue.

He broke out of a lot of his old tendencies too this game because he could run the ball.

Taking homerun shots left and right and just had the pedal on the floor.

That is the best we have looked since we beat Philly in the playoffs. We haven't touched that level of play until today.

I've always thought Garrett did a good job of playcalling.

Our main difficulty has been power runs inside the 5 where we have really struggled. However, that is mostly a blocking issue not a playcalling issue.

Our main problem offensively has been an immobile but large and strong OL that was poor at power running. It was some sort of an oxymoron at some level as that is what you would expect them to be good at.

I do think Garrett has a vision of what he wants for this football team but it will take awhile to put the pieces in place. I think he is about 2/3rds of the way there but he will need another offseason to get the missing pieces in place.

Defensively we are one good passrusher away from being a great unit. I do hope Rob Ryan sticks around for a little while. It is a shame that as soon as a coordinator of ours has success someone hires him away to a HC position due to all the coverage we get.

He's handed it off to Murray down there before. The difference this week is we got it blocked enough to score.

If all it took was perfect execution by the players, then why even bother getting a good OC or DC?
