OP: "Can Bland/Overshown stay healthy and return to form?"
I will have your answer for you sometime around October or early November.
Every season is a huge season for them.Huge season for both!
YES reallyNot really
It's pretty easy to equate the fact that non contact injury on 1 it's just a fluke it's accident it doesn't mean you're very prone, And then he has the terrible luck of having the other knee not to say me get hold up on in a buy a 300 pound defensive lineman yes it would take your knee out as well It would take anybody's knee out as well just like there's certain guys get hurt or fumble because it's a perfect situation in a negative manner, You know a perfect storm as they would say this **** just happened he's not injury prone at all..He’s played 19 games out of a possible 51
What gives you faith that this year he won’t miss games?
He didn’t look like that last year.Uh, wrong. Dude runs down everything. Until he gets hurt.
Think when contract year everyone plays good, say 98% of the time.Agent 0 once again I've said he's in a contract year, he is going to somehow play all of the games injury free $$$$$$$$$
He plays best downhill, you are right about his poor instincts.I just dont think Overshown is very good. He made splash plays in 2025 when he was blitzed by Zimmer, but other than that he was pretty ineffective. He has rather poor instincts.
If he is not an instinctive player, he doesnt fit what Parker wants. If Barham grasps the position, I wouldn't be surprised if he starts taking some of Overshowns snapsHe plays best downhill, you are right about his poor instincts.
If you focus on more than just his splash plays, you will see a player running himself out of plays way more than a starting LB shouldYES really
Critical question. When players are frequently injured in part of career it's difficult to accomplish much and might demonstrate physical vulnerabilityBoth Bland and Overshown has shown flashes of pro bowl potential throughout their young careers. However, they both have really struggled to stay healthy which has lead in a dip in their production:
-Bland had 14 interceptions in a two year span, then he hurt his foot and has struggled since. Last season very inconsistent and was never around the football. Nobody truly knows if he was playing hurt throughout the season as he got his 2nd foot surgery this offseason. The team has an out in his contract after the season if he is healthy.
-Overshown has never played a full season to date. He has suffered two major knee injuries, with the last one being the most severe. When he returned last season, he just wasn't the same player. Granted he was being used more off the ball then attacking, but deserves a mulligan missing so much time. He now enters his contract season, where the team has an Winters now on the roster who has a similar skillset. Like Bland he could be playing somewhere else next season.
If the new staff can help these two return to form, the rebuilding of the defense will happened faster, but they may very well have to replace both players in the near future. Huge season for both!
Nobody could on that team.He didn’t look like that last year.
Yeah he'll have 75 sacks, 7942 tackles, 7 touchdowns, 78 Interceptions and will play all of the games! It will be great, then he'll go back to being injured as usualThink when contract year everyone plays good, say 98% of the time.
Overshown and Bland have played the same number of games the past two seasons. He’s played 19 games out of a possible 51
What gives you faith that this year he won’t miss games?
One guy has played 53 of 68Overshown and Bland have played the same number of games the past two seasons.
We certainly need them too. Especially blandBoth Bland and Overshown has shown flashes of pro bowl potential throughout their young careers. However, they both have really struggled to stay healthy which has lead in a dip in their production:

Ok.One guy has played 53 of 68
The other has played 19 of 51
I’m not even a fan of Bland, and would not have extended him, but at least he has proven himself at the NFL level and had two seasons where he didn’t miss a game
Overshown is still largely unknown and only has fans because of a couple of games two years ago.
