Can Chad Johnson help us get that Ring?!?!?! He thinks so!!!

Cincy cannot afford the cap hit to trade him.

That is my reason that there is no shot of this happening. Cincy simply isn't going to take the cap hit to move him.

"Just throw me the ball," he said. "I just want you to know what it's like to throw to greatness. That's what I told him. It's funny, some people call me arrogant. I just think I'm extraordinary."
TO on one side and Ocho on the other?

Just say No-cho to the Ocho. TO has matured, #85 shows little signs of it happening. And spare me the "what about Owens before he came here" line. You can only go the well so many times.

He thinks he can bring a ring, but he hasn't been able to do it yet. He needs a talented team, like everyone else.

Well you can't use the TO has matured, as part of your argument, and then say you not to mention before.

Before TO came here he simply wasn't the same as he is now. Period. You can't have it both ways. Either you don't use TO's change as an example, or you've opened up the fact that he didn't change till he got here.

#3: Can you just imagine the media circus (As if it's not already one anyway) in Dallas if you had Chad and T.O. in one locker room? I'm not as worried about others that they'd get along, I think they'd do just fine in the pursuit of a ring, but those two would have so much stuff for media to turn into front page news it would be ridiculas.

This is reason enough that Jerry would want to bring him. More media= more money for Jerry. It's simply good business to bring in a Chad Johnson.

Thoughts on Chad Johnson

Add Cincinnati's Chad Johnson to the growing list of players wanting to play for the Cowboys. They all want to play for the Cowboys.

Anyway, the chance of Johnson coming to the Cowboys is remote. The Bengals are the only team not to have made a trade with the Cowboys since Jerry Jones has been the owner and general manager. The clubs did have talks involving T.J. Houshmanzadeh before he became the receiver he is today, but it never got that far.

But there is a first time for everything.

-------------------------------

Interesting. We could've had "Who's your Mama?"

I still remember a few years ago when he was an RFA and only got the 7th round tender. Seventh round! Who wouldn't give up a 7th for him? He might not have been the "name" that he is now, but he was stil a solid and proven NFL WR.

That's why I always suspected there was some kind of collusion among teams to not mess with other teams' RFAs... At least for some teams.

I dont really care if we get him or not.

I just hope that you guys who don't want him aren't fans of bringing in Pacman Jones.

I did not know we had never made a trade with Cincy, but had every other team.

I'd rather have TJ. He's a very good #2 wr.

Why does he speak about himself in the third person? GAWD that's annoying when people do that.

I'd be all for him coming to the Cowboys, but Cinny can't let him leave because of cap ramifications. Oh well....

He sure didn't show it last year

Wow!!! You must have very very high expectations.

I don't think it could happen but I would love to see it happen. A lot of people on here did not want TO either and I think that turned out just fine.

Now don't get me wrong, I love T.O., but the idea that Johnson isn't in his league is very, very, very off to me.

Let's take a look at career stats here.

T.O.

12 Seasons
882 career receptions
13,070 career yards
14.8 yard per catch average
129 Touchdowns

Ocho

7 NFL Seasons
559 career receptions
8,365 career yards
15.0 yard per catch average
49 TDs

Now, obviously, with 5 more seasons under his belt T.O. has the better numbers at this point but if you look at what Chad does, year to year, and average that out for the next five seasons you'd be surprised.

If he continues at the pace he's been on the last five seasons, and I see no reason baring a serious injury that he won't, then this is what his totals would be after his 12th season in the NFL.

Ocho Projected 12 Year Stats

1,019 career receptions
15,235 career yards
14-15 yards per catch average
125 career touchdowns

Chad has 49 TDs in 7 seasons, how in the heck do u expect Chad to get 79 TDs in 5 more seasons....:laugh2:

What a great trivia question.

Two words on this deal...."cap" and "room." We don't have any.

He must have come on later in the year because I remember him being pissed because he wasn't getting the ball early in the year.

Say what you want about 85, be he's a HELL of a WR! He and T.O. together would be a terrifying tandem and there would be NO WAY teams could defend them (especially w/ Witten and MB3 to worry about also). I don't understand the hatred for this guy...I mean, what has he done? He flaps his gums alot (no different than our beloved 88) but he also backs up every boast when he hits the field (also like 88). He has speed, size, great hands, charisma, and isn't afraid of contact. IMO, he's not the prima donna that Owens is and his recent diatribes just reflect his disdain for Cincy as an organization. I'm willing to wager if by some slim chance he ends up in Big D and performs at his same Pro-Bowl level that 95% of y'all would be singing his praises instead of bemoaning his presence!

You might be right. He might have started out slow or maybe he's was just being Chad and crying.:D
