How can one not be sold on the Saints yet?

I am not sold on the saints. I wasn't sold on the Titans last year and the Ravens 2 years ago. They are one and done.

Ive had a feeling for weeks that the Saints are begging to be beat and that Belicheat will figure out and expose the Saints O...their secondary is beat up ......I feel they will lose to Pats, Cowboys and Carolina down the stretch and finish 13-3.............i think the boys win ...against Saints, Wash, Giants, and SD and lose to Philly and finish 12-4...so no i dont think they catch Saints but will be ready for them if we meet in playoffs....Vikings are the only team i dont wanna play.....Allen will beat Adams like a drum

Couldn't disagree more. I want the Vikings. Allen is great, but I 'm confident Adams can hold his own. I just can't understand all the Adams hate. When has this guy ever been beaten up or made to look bad by even the best pass rushers when healthy.
Allen doesn't scare me, but we certainly scare Farve. Check his record against us.

Am I the only one who doesn't want the bye considering what happened two years ago?

I feel that that extra week gives these guys too much time to think about the game.

Go out there Week 17, beat Philly and establish some momentum. Get confident for that Wild Card game. Beat whatever inferior team they put in front of us.

End that damn winless streak.
I don't want it either. I know that sounds strange but 3 of the last 4 Superbowl champs didn't have a bye and at least one SB participant didn't have a bye for 5 of the last 6 SB bowls. What I would like is to have the first playoff game at home(which requires us to win the division), win that game get some confidence and the haven't won a playoff game in 13 years thing over with. Then go on the road and see what we can do.

I agree. I am still not sold on the Vikings because they haven't been tested in my opinion by a good team except for the Steelers and they lost. Their schedule has been pretty weak for the most part. They had some narrow escapes against SF and Balt and I don't really count those GB games because of the emotion and familiarity factor Favre had for those games. I still need to see more from the Vikings before I am convinced they are all that.

They've barely beaten some bad teams.

They could just as easily be 8-2 or 7-3 right now.

I'm not sold on their division being that tough either.

I agree. I may be speaking from a standpoint of pure ignorance, but I think we can take them.

Odds are against us, but I can still see us making a run at a BYE week.
Think both the Viks and Saints a few losses in them.

I dont see us catching the saints, but we might be able to catch the vikings

why? i still have to see how Farve's arm is holding up at mid december.

generally that time of the year, his throws start deteroiating

so we might be better off catching the vikings and have 2nd seed bye week

Hasn't Brett Favre been around long enough to spell his name right?

I've watched a lot of their games, and they are by far the sloppiest 10-0 team I've ever seen.

Look at other teams that have, and have had that record in recent years, and those teams play sound, fundamental football.

The Saints overcome a lot of mistakes...fumbles by Reggie Bush, fumbles in the kicking game, Drew Brees' strip sacks, and other miscues, by strictly relying on Drew Brees' arm. They have had plenty of miscues on defense also, but they are a ball hawking defense, and seem to overcome them. What happens if a fundamentally sound team plays them?

I will go on record as saying that they are far sloppier than any recent Cowboys team...and yes, we are also heavily dependent on our QB to overcome miscues.

I will also go on record that the Patriots will thump the Saints pretty good on their own turf on Monday night. I'm calling a 21 point blowout victory, and it won't seem that close.

No we can't catch MN or NO. We just need to concentrate on winning the division.

Not only would we have to play super great down the stretch but more importantly the Saints would also have to fall WAY off the map for us to catch them for homefield.

I don't think it's got any real shot of happening.

i think we're better than our record, and i think the saints are worse than their record...

will we be able to take their home field advantage? Probably not, but it will be close. If they lose to New England, we have a realistic chance, simply by beating them.

How can you assume that? Winning the division should be the goal, yes, but icing on the cake is a 1st round bye.

We need to take care of our own business, but the Saints are part of it on December 19. They have New England next.

They could easily go 3-3 in their remaining games.

You never know when a team is going to slide. I do agree Dallas needs to focus on their own business of winning the east and putting up as many W as they can in the end we will see where we stack up in the race.

...have to focus on getting healthy, winning games and getting the entire roster to contribute on the march towards post season.

Who cares who is ahead of you and what their record is. The only thing of importance is the next game.

The Saints and Vikings don't matter unless they are upcoming opponents.
