Can Doug Free get a little bit of love?

We've banged on Free all last season and hoped he would be cut. But what did he so? Worked on his strength footwork technic and bought into the system and the guy took a paycut and has been one of the better tackles in the league this year. He is not getting beat he is creating push and is just playing with a purpose. I am glad we got the free we were all excited about back.

I'll second that. I read in the pregame summary that he would face a better pass rusher than Smith would.

Great point. We were all down on Free last year, in fact several posters here didn't even want to bring him back for camp. Free has been very consistent this year and one of our better offensive lineman. Hopefully he can keep up the good work!

He has been a pleasant surprise no doubt. He has played very well and deserves recognition.

If he were paid less sure. He's not that bad. We have to consider how weak the interior was last year which in turn made him look bad. Not that he did much to counter that. He's a solid player. Let's not get too excited folks. It was the Rams. If they were to beat Denver THEN I'll be on here saying "How Bout Them Cowboys!?!/"

Not playing with horrible players improved his play, who would have thought it?

Not talking about the Rams talking about the 3 games so far.

He's played well with better interior linemen yes. Didn't suggest anyone said anything about the Rams. I thought I'd just point it out. Good win none the less. A positive was I saw runs heading to the right side this time around. That does make you find a little hope in your heart. Hopefully this line continues to Gel together. Will certainly go a long way to the success of this offense.

Unless the guys were supposed to block his man, I don't see how this would make Free any less likely to be driven back like he was hit by a truck and ran past like he was stuck in mud.

He was awful last year and that was on him.

To his credit, he's turned it around big time thus far.

It was the Rams? You mean quite possibly the best 4-3 pass rushing DE combo in the league. That Rams?

For the record I've never been against Free. He's a good ball player.

Yes, the ones that Murray has crushed every single time we've played them. Those Rams.

I think that he tried helping inside more than he was able to last year and that made him lose focus on his man at points. He has been very up and down as a player for us, but this isn't the first time that he has played well for us.

Having Frederick at center allows us to do a better job giving help to Bernadeau and we've been rotating Waters in to keep him fresh as well. Both of those make Free better.

Do you follow other teams? Quinn and Long are monster pass rushers. Their DTs suck and can't stop the run. But those two guys have been terrorizing offensive tackles for years
