Lets say Jason goes 5-3. Can he win Coach of the year? or is it too small of a sample size. discuss.

I would think barring a big collapse, the award will go to Raheem Morris

Inclined to think COTY will go to a HC whose been doing the job for the entire season with very good results. Competition this year is probably among HCs from Pats, Colts, Ravens, Eagles, Rams, Falcons, Steelers. Garrett might have outside shot if we go 8-0 which mean Cowboys will be the spoile team since we lay Colts, NO, Eagles -2, etc.

Scuttlebuckets. That team is trash.

If the Chiefs make the playoffs, I think it has to go to Haley.

Agreed here. Garrett has no chance.

I didn't think about the Chiefs, so you're right there. However, saying that the 6-3 Buccaneers are trash is beyond idiotic. It's the NFL, you are what you are. They are 6-3 and playing quite well. They had the number 3 pick in the draft, making this a huge turn around. Raheem Morris is without question in the running for coach of the year.

I think Tom Cable will end up with it if the Raiders keep it up (and I think they will). I think they've got some good things going for them.

I just hope they beat the Steelers. Their fan's tears sustain me >.>

And if that happens, they should cut the trophy into 3 parts and give it to Haley, Weiss and Crennel. Haley may be a good coach but don't think it's merely a coincidence that he gets 2 great coordinators and his team starts having some success.

Look at the teams they've beaten, and who they've lost to.

They beat:
Cleveland - 3 pts
Carolina - 13
Cincinatti - 3
St. Louis - 1
Arizona - 3
Carolina - 15

They've lost to:
Pittsburgh - 25 pts
New Orleans - 25
Atlanta - 6 (a late KO return for td made it close, they didn't have 300 yards offense)

My point is, they have beaten up on some bottom feeders and are going to fold against good teams. The more I look, their remaining schedule is actually pretty easy. They might end up being a 10-6 team, but that is based SOLELY on the fact that they play garbage teams.

not a chance. 8-0 gets him on the short list if anything. That's it.

If ONE game can make Vick the MVP, then 8 games CAN make JG the Coach Of The Year...but ONLY if he makes a HUGE turnaround....

But even then, I kinda doubt it.

Vick has a QB rating of 115.1, 11 TDs and 0 INTs in 153 pass attempts, in addition to 341 yards rushing and 4 rushing TDs.

He's getting 8.8 yards per pass attempt and 7.8 yards per rushing attempt. More importantly, the Eagles are undefeated in the games he's played from start to finish.

That took more than one game.

Was he talked about as being an MVP until this past week? Nope.

That's the point. Not the stats.

Plus, I'm still not impressed by Vick although he WAS impressive this past week.

Like I said...Every "dog" has his day....

Wow. I dislike the guy, but those stats are incredible.
