Can Hamlin play strong safety?

I can't belive how many people are on Hamlin's Jock. He blew coverage several times and allowed TD's not to mention on every long run for a TD he was either out of position or whiffed on the tackle.

Watkins?!?!? Are you kidding me? Did people actually forget how many times he was smoked two years ago? He has worse ball skills than Roy.

For some reason, people think that sitting the bench for a year has made him that much better all of a sudden. No matter what many of you may think, Roy is still one of the top two safties on the team.

I dont think/know if watkins is the answer, He can improve I hope..But Roy is for a fact not the answer. and he's taking up a huge chunk of our money.

I think Roy Williams was way overhyped, and you could even argue his play warranted it early in his career. But the bar is set so high for the guy (draft status, yes, and a fat contract). He simply isn't a top 5 safety in the league. But he's still better than alot of guys. Just when he makes a mistake it's overanalyzed. There's plenty of safeties in this league who are equally bad at coverage that start. They just don't have the big name.

I think they draft a safety regardless of what they do with Hamlin or Roy.

I think Hamlin plays out his franchise tender and they let him walk next year.
Due to all the pending extensions and the rising cost of doing business, I think he walks.

I don't see this as being what is best for the team in the short run but I reserve the right to change my mind after seeing Watkins for another year, how RW plays this year, and how Brown and whatever safety we draft does this year as well.

I think this is a real problem for us money wise but I see it as a very distinct possibility. I could just kill RW for the position he's put us in.
