Can Marcus Spears become another Reggie White?

Forget Reggie. I'd be happy if he morphed into Jeffcoat or Tolbert.

I'd be more happy if he turned into a 2007 version of Leonard Marshall, and he has that kind of talent and athletic ability

Phillips will get alot out of Spears

He would have been better if he didnt get hurt in trainig camp inhis rookie year but reggie a hall a famer spears is gonna have to step it up

Yea that's a better comparison. He was never a sack machine, even in college. How he could ever remind anybody of Reggie White is beyond me. He is more like a Grant Wistrom type of end to me. Maybe he can have a Cory Redding type breakout season. I didn't get to see much of Redding this year but they seem sort of similar.

Is anybody besides me dying to see these clips?

No, I've sacraficed enough brain cells to High School film in my day. I'd just rather go quietly like, with the majority here.

No.

This has got to be the dumbest thread today; maybe even of the last couple of days.

White might be a lofty comparison for any player but Clyde Simmons, that other Buddy Ryan Eagle DE might be a more fair comparison, solid, pro bowler, not spectacular. If Spears can be a Clyde Simmons I'll be pleased with him.

Thoughts? He reminded me of Reggie White when I was looking at his clips. I just want to hear yall thoughts.

I feel Wade Phillips could put him in position to be a feared sack artist.

But I hope Spears never becomes as stupid as Reggie was.:)

It depends on that blown knee situation, if he ever gets it back and beyond then maybe so but we will be playing a 3-4 from the way it looks now..

No.......with all due respect to Mr. Reggie White (the greatest rusher ever)

The only similiarities between Spears pass rush when compared to Reggie White's is that Spear's pass rush looks deceased and unfortunately so does Mr. White's! :bang2:

Spears has 2.5 sacks in 2 years...

He would need to play 158 years to match Reggie White's sack total of 198.

:lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2:

Please, Reggie White was a first ballot HOF'er, we are just hoping that Spears turns into a serviceable player at this point.

You've gotta be kidding! You must not remember Reggie White.

He actually has a point, however.

White was barrel-chested and top heavy. So is Spears.

I mean, I think it is a natural comparison.;)
