Can Marist be a MLB and put Overshown as an OLB?

Plenty of reasons, but I’m gonna clean the slate with him.

He is just football stupid, and the fact that he scheduled a victory party before the GB incident and let it get out tells me it might just carry beyond the field.

When they had him flying toward the punter I’d hold my breath every time.
I feel Sam is playing for a lot of things he’s done his first few years. Seems like he’s gotten a lot of things in check. Now how good of a football player he is? I don’t know. This should be his last chance in Dallas he has proper coaching now.

Brother, I don't care what the critics say about Liufau. You are absolutely correct to question why he has been moved from inside LB and wearing the green dot his rookie year to now being moved to the edge where that definitely is not his playing ability position. He is being set up to fail, and that's a damn shame because Liufau truly has some talent if left to play inside LB. Even these 2 well known Cowboys YouTubers are questioning this crazy move while saying the same thing I questioned last week.

This is where I got my inspiration to write this post

Sucks that after all these seasons we still don't know!

I’m not counting on Liufau for much at all. Realistically he might be in need of an injury ahead of him on the depth chart in order to make the initial final cuts. Hes a solid depth piece that can play a role on special teams…outside of that he’s been pretty horrible his first two years. Now switching positions and supposedly playing at a new weight is likely going to be an uphill battle for a player most likely on the roster fringe.

The better conversation in my mind is what you do with Overshown. The general consensus seems to be he’s getting all his snaps in at MLB but I’d keep a close eye on this. Back from his first press conference CP talked a lot about having Overshown be a chess piece and even mention that was a big part of the conversations he had with Jerry and Schottenheimer. I’d pay close attention to if they are moving O to a variety of LB spots during camp.

I think MLB is more of a mystery than we know right now…and may be a combination of players. I’m fairly certain Liufau isn’t part of that vision though.
Didn't he come out and say he's the MLB ?? I may be wrong, I just don't think he and Winters need to be inside, let them go outside. Hell sprinkle in some 4-3 concepts. 3-4 I'm assuming they want guys like Ez and Lawrence/Sam out there

Yeah we just wasted years of our young players with poor coaching….

He is no doubt a talented rusher, and could be an effective player who eventually earns a nice sized contract. But he has to clean some things up which are well within his control…or are they? They claim you can’t fix stupid. He is a procedure penalty on third and four waiting to happen.

Obviously I’m rooting for him. I think he is a key piece to the depth of edge rusher.

Maybe having older guys like Gary coupled with the younger ones that are coming up behind him makes some sort of light go on. We need the guy.

If we still had the usual crap at DT, I probably wouldn’t feel this confident in our edge guys. That’s over, barring injury. Almost feels as if the Joneses are no longer running the team….dont go ruining my dream lol.

Winters played ILB for SF. What makes you think he can't play inside?

What about Sam Williams? The Zone hates him like poison
At the risk of getting too far off topic I think Sam Williams' career can be saved if the Cowboys just use him as a situational pass rusher.

He's clueless and has zero intelligence at setting the edge as a run stopper, but getting after the QB is the one thing he does know how to do.

Inside LB in today's NFL is not the inside LB of decades past.

Overshown is not going to be taking on offensive linemen 50 snaps a game. Most of the time he will be in pursuit or pass coverage.

He played olb in college so it might actually surprise people in Parker’s system. This really is his last chance

It was being said that he's better roaming around from sideline to sideline
You still need to figure out the difference between OLB and ILB in the 3-4. The OLB are pass rushers while the ILB are off ball LBs.

at least we're better off than the NYG ---
they worked out Kenneth murray today
