Can Martyball be making a return?

For those too young to remember Brian’s dad Marty was an excellent head coach who preached the run game as priority… one would hope the genetic trait got passed down and we draft a bruising back who can grind it out.. control the clock etc…. That would really save Dak a lot of pressure from having to have every game with 3 passing touchdowns and no interceptions

It’s the only way for this team to win and it has been for the past 20 years. Dak and Romo both have had their most success with bell cow RB’s. Unfortunately our owner thinks because he’s the highest paid he needs to throw 40 times per game….

There is no question the offense will move towards more emphasis on the running game with Shotty in charge. I expect the OL to be shored up and no question another top back (hopefully in the draft) or two will be added. Additionally I expect the running game scheme to be looked at and tinkered with. That is long overdue.

It's still a passing league so there won't be a full blown return of Marty ball like there was in KC. But it will lean more in the running game and ball control offense. And hopefully Shotty can finally get the OL penalties under control.

Yep.

Dak just isn’t a big game player.

On top of that we saw teams have to go and play in the snow this past weekend.

The Cowboys quickest path to success is a run game because there is just too many holes on this roster and a run game can help mask it.

Next season already feels like another waste.

Wasn’t MS best known for never being able to win a big game in the playoffs

The days of the bruising back are over.
And before someone mentions Derrick Henry he runs a 4.4 and is a home run back

Copy the Lions RB approach is the way to go.
And they don’t have a running QB either

King Henry is first of all a punishing back.
