It’s the only way for this team to win and it has been for the past 20 years. Dak and Romo both have had their most success with bell cow RB’s. Unfortunately our owner thinks because he’s the highest paid he needs to throw 40 times per game….
A bellcow running back and a good offensive line is what this team needs to be a successful offense. If Shottenheimer brings this type of offensive scheme with motion and play action I will probably like this head coach.Take some pressure off Prescott and you will improve this team quick.

name those players, and then name ours..i'll wait..

Offense that featured the run game with Emmit was the reason we won those SBs. And that type of offense is what we need to win playoff games with Dak.

You are dead wrong to think that type offense will only work if we had Aikman, Smith and Irvin.

King Henry is first of all a punishing back.
I have been wanting one of those in this offense if Dallas drafts a bell cow type and really tries to run the football , that is a smart move.If you add a wide receiver that can take the top off of the defense things could get better here .

For those too young to remember Brian’s dad Marty was an excellent head coach who preached the run game as priority… one would hope the genetic trait got passed down and we draft a bruising back who can grind it out.. control the clock etc…. That would really save Dak a lot of pressure from having to have every game with 3 passing touchdowns and no interceptions
Schottenheimer ran heavily in New York at the direction of Ryan. In his 3 seasons in Seattle Wilson threw for 3500, 4100, and 4200, he also had his highest TD 40, completion %, and qb rating 105 in that span. Seattle went 10-6, 11-5, 12-4 and he was fired because Carroll didn’t think he ran enough!

I approach this like his time with the Jets.

Bell cow type back (Jeanty) and invest in the defense.
I like your thinking, if Jeanty is gone ,draft Burden WR Missouri in the first round. Then Hampton RB North Carolina in the second round. This would give Dallas speed to take the top off of the defense and a good play action game to help Prescott .Both of these players can take it to the house anytime from anywhere. Then focus on a big offensive lineman to make the plan work.

NFL is getting back to the run offense. You should know that the NFL never stays the same. It turns in cycles. Marty Ball is making a comeback. Same with the NBA. Big men are slowly becoming a bigger factor now. As it was in the past.

You ever meet Brian?
No. My aunt was a team photographer for the Chiefs so I met and had dinner with Marty after my mom died. I also met Troy Aikman and George Teague who I went to high school with. Brian wasn't part of the picture so I can't say I personally have a negative impression of him.

Dallas should plan on getting back to an offense like the early 90's, continue building the trenches on both sides of the ball .And speed and talent at WR and Running back.

Not if it’s all through the draft. That will take years. El Cheapo needs to help his hand picked Coach out.

Oh I totally agree,Ol Jerry has gotten worse at GM every year for 30 years.I don't know why Ol Jerry just refuses to bring in top free agents to help this team.He could bring in 1 or 2 good players every year , but for some reason he does not .I have given up trying to figure this GM out ,I would hire professional football people to run my number one in the world sports franchise .I figure he is either cheap for some reason or he just does'nt know how to manage the cap when bringing in top free agents.

LaDanian Tomlinson was definitely not a bruiser. He was a slash, speed, quickness, catch and scoring dual-threat type of RB.
