Can More Franchises Join The NFL?

Good Lord I hope not- the level of play is worse now than it's ever been. Can you imagine if the league were even more watered down?! Yuck. The USFL teams would wipe the current ones out- add a few more teams and some of the colleges would be competitive.

I'm afraid the NFL is bound and determined to force a team into the second largest media market in America which is Los Angeles.

It will either be via moving a franchise or expansion at which point to keep things even a 34th team will need to be added.

Look for either the Raiders to relocate back to LA for a second term or for LA to receive a franchise in the next 10 years and with it the novelty of a possible Hawaii or Canadian addition to the league.

The league is way too watered down now. I would love to see us back down to 24 teams again. Get rid of teams that aren't committed to winning: Cardinals, Lions, Browns, Texans, etc. Any team that doesn't have at least 4 winning seasons in the last 10 years.

Allow rosters to be at 64 players plus a practice squad of 10-12 guys.

Let's get the very best players playing in the NFL and send the scrubs to the arena league or the CFL.

Of course this is blasphemy to the NFL as they are all about the benjamin and would NEVER agree to get rid of teams.

well theres that and the fact that after 1997-2007 wed be on the cusp of being eliminated ourselves.

All true, but if there was enough fan support in Honolulu and someone was willing to buy a franchise for the city, what's stopping it from becoming reality? Travel can't be an obstacle. In the upcoming season alone, the University of Hawaii's football team travels to the continent for five games. They host six teams from the states. If college teams can overcome this hardship, what's stopping PRO teams???

Most of the teams that go out there are at least from the western part of the US. if you got NFL scheduling, there would have to be east coast teams who have to travel out there more often. Could you imagine that trek for New England/New York/Miami, etc.?

Yes, I do. I also realize that during the regular season, only division opponents would have to make that trip more than once. Every other team would have to make the same lengthy trip that would comparable to teams making a trip to Toyko. Or to Mexico City. Or to London. It would be a long trek as you say, but it has been done before without much fanfare.

Sorry, Jerry. Survivor is just another Reality TV show that I've barely watched (if at all). The closest RTV show I've watched on a regular basis is Deal Or No Deal and I don't even watch it religiously. :
