Dallas could really use an upgrade at SAM. Could Jack be that upgrade?
Well, after resigning McClain I don't see another place for Jack to play. So, I guess Myles is off the board.
Well, it would be too high to take a guy that is going to be a backup year one.
I doubt the Cowboys pick jack at 4 but he has to be in the conversation, in this class, he is a top 5 talent.
Further, he can line up at safety, corner and paste TE's, RB's and WR's, he is awesome in coverage so you can line him up anywhere and he can make an impact.
I think if he were in their plans they wouldn't have resigned McClain......which is a shame.
Doubtful, Ro is one puff from a 10 game suspension and is on a one year deal, his off/on play is not going to preclude taking Jack as a LB.
Second, Jack can play any and all the positions, a feature Eberflus covets and can play the will perfectly assuming Lee gets injured again.
SAM would not be a good use of his talents.
But the problem is when you go nickle, which is often, a LB has to come off the field. They aren't taking Lee off the field in nickle. And they aren't taking Ro off the field in nickle.
That would leave Jack.
You can't draft a guy at 4 to play 30-40% of the snaps on defense and/or hope that one of your other LBs gets hurt so you can play your #4 pick more.
I think there's little chance they take Jack at 4. If I had to guess at this point given the stated big needs of the team from the owner............ 4 is going to be either Ramsey, Buckner, Bosa or they shock and take a QB.
Thats why I would be pissed of they pass on a QB to take Jack. Dont dislike the player but of your drafting in now mode (a mistake) why pass on a QB for a player that is gonna log 30% snaps? Jack is a good coverage backer but rookies tend to get abused in coverage and we have good to solid coverage LBs right now
Jack would start nickel day 1 over Ro
All rookies arent created equally.
