I understand that some of you think Myles Jack is Zeus reincarnated. He's a great athlete.

He has great ability to cover the slot............in college. But in the NFL? Entirely different ball game. Jack is probably more athletic and faster than many of the slot WRs he saw in college but in the pros..............

I think if he were in their plans they wouldn't have resigned McClain......which is a shame.

That would be a horrible way to approach building a team. We can't go into the draft assuming that we could get Jack at No. 4 because he might not be available. Then what, if we had never signed McClain?

Plus, McClain is signed for one year. A team would pass on a top-five player because it has someone else signed for one year? Someone who has been less than reliable? I would hope not.

Jack would give us tremendous options at linebacker between McClain, Lee and Jack -- and who knows how often we'd even have all three of them available and healthy for the same game.

I think Jack is just as much a possibility today as he was before we signed McClain. The question is whether would even take him at No. 4 without McClain.

I think I am more or less just trying not to get my hopes up too high. If I were the GM I would have Jack at the top of my board.

Totally agree. Marinelli is one of the more innovative DCs around, if you give him three LBs that are all three down players who can cover and blitz, he will give you an entirely new defensive look to maximize their talents.

Are there suddenly a plethora of 4.3 slot receivers now? He didn't just cover the slot, there were times he covered the outside, yes, the outside. Now, in the pros, I'm not saying he will be doing that. I AM saying he's ran step for step with fast receivers, those same receivers will be considered "fast" in the NFL to compared to others.

If Cowboys had Jack ranked first on their board before the McClain signing, it hasn't changed. You don't pass on a talent like Jack because of a pot smoking soon to be 27 year old LB was signed to a one year deal.

It's the NFL, they'll find ways to get Jack onto the football field.

Now with Dallas talking like Carr won't be cut, the only immediate impact player in the top 5 for Dallas would be Jack.

I just do not see the point in taking Bosa, not with 4 young defensive linemen on the team already.

Lets see what they have before investing a top 4 pick in another.

Myles Jack makes a lot of sense. McClain is only on a 1 year deal and carries some baggage, and Sean Lee is 30 with all that injury history.

IMO there's only 3 blue chip prospects in this class and that's Tunsil, Ramsey, Jack.

In nickel package Jack could take the role that Jones played last year of covering the TE. Then take Church off field and play your 3 CBs

Yes. Don't draft the guy. We can totally depend on Ro and Lee. Even as the starting SAM, he'd get a ton of snaps filling in at the other positions. If he takes Ro's job, so what? That's a good thing

Thats why I would be pissed of they pass on a QB to take Jack. Dont dislike the player but of your drafting in now mode (a mistake) why pass on a QB for a player that is gonna log 30% snaps? Jack is a good coverage backer but rookies tend to get abused in coverage and we have good to solid coverage LBs right now

Very few rookies make any impact in their first year anyway .

Ramsey and Jack have questions about exactly what position they would play in the pros . That is s concern to me.

If healthy Jack may make more impact as a rookie than Ramsey because he can play closer to LOS.

With Jack's ability to cover you can employ 4-4-3 or even 5-3-3 alignment against offense. If DC use him correctly you can cause havoc on opposing offense and confuse the heck out of the QB.

NFL today LBs have to play both run and pass so I am less worried about Jack. Ramsey seems to be better fitted for S than CB but that's just me.

Either of them would become our best player on defense year 1.

At what position? Name another defensive rookie that has made an impact his first year . It is not common for them to even start. In Ramsey's case , there seems to be better pure CBs late year and safety was not his position this year IIRC.
