Can Pollard replace Zeke like Dak replaced Romo because it was working?

Pollard is not Elliot. He is running between tackle well. But they were saying he is a outside runner but I saw last night when he gets the edge if there was a defender there that he stops instead of making a cut the way Elliot will.

Is that cut worth 14.5 million more dollars a year?

Zeke will sign here soon but people keep looking for something to nitpick about Pollard.. He looks awesome so far and we really haven’t even seen him used a lot at what he is good at.

I agree but with the playoffs or SB on the line then yes. I am not paying the bill. Lol.

Elliot is better than pretty much every RB in the league. We knew he was going to get paid in the area, I just don’t like doing it before the end of this year. Or the hold out.

uhmmmm... no. Tony was at the end of his career and Dak wa sthe young buck rookie. Zeke is absolutely coming into his prime and is YOUNG. These two situations are not close. BUT, if pollard can keep this up in the regular season, it would hopefully give us an Ingram/Kamara type sutuation.

Elliot is a knucklehead and he’s got a lot of time left on his deal.

That is what I don’t like about all of this.

He should be willing to do a team friendly deal because he keeps getting in trouble and he’s also got 2 seasons before he has to be paid but it sounds like he wants the biggest contract in the NFL at RB.

That is my problem.

If there was no salary cap then who cares.. Pay him whatever.

You do replace a player in the sense of you take his position on the team. The new player never ever truly replaces another . you just change the style the scheme and you keep rolling. Good bad or indifferent that's the fact of it

But why didn’t they ....let it happen?

He was ready to play by like week 8. Looked great in his last game
Because you don't want to change the camaraderie of what's happening on the field and off the field. Romo could have got his job back the next season Perry I think once you swap a quarterback he stays

People underestimate what Zeke can do. Only a half full of backs are even capable of touching the ball 30 times a game while leaving some in the tank to close games.

Also...last night was a bit different but Pollard was going against backups the first two games, a bit dramatic to crown him based on that considering what Zeke has already showed us in 3 seasons.

It’s preseason. 5 preseason drives, 3 of which were against backups does not mean much when comparing a player to an all star.

:clap::clap::clap::clap:

Elliot has 2 years left. I would let him sit. If Pollard starts the season and does the job. I'd just let him sit...and hope he is so stubborn that he just keeps sitting...who needs a player like him...

they would need to use pollard differently than zeke.
but that would be moving forward to a more diversified offense.
also use the fb more because either backs can be receiving threats though the fb can be used for pass protection

I don't know what to think of Houston after last night's game. Are we that much better than they are or are they that much worse than us, if you catch my drift.

Once we find the answer to that out, it'll be easier to decide what we need in order to be more than just a contender this season.

Cowboy fans love tripping in the off season. If we kept all the RBs that looked good in pre season, can you imagine the scrubs we would have had through out the years?

Wait til the regular season.
exactly LOL If we go by last night we can cut every start on the team Rush look's servicable, Cut Dak hes asking for too much, the entire stable of backs looked like all stars last night so keep them all run 35 times a game and let Rush be the bus driver, the DL Tank who trade him? Taco and others looks great this PS why have any stars, man the DL on whole looks 3 deep, ..etc so why pay anyone..lol

Now that the insane sarcastic reply is over,

ITS PRESESON DONT DRINK THE KOOLAID..

what we should be encouraged about is the backups look deeper then weve ever had thats RB, DL, LB and OLine to an extent.. Bring back Zeke Pollard will be great actual producing RB2 and this team is poised for run.. maybe im drinkign the koolaid but this is the first time in many years we will be cuttign good players because of dpth we now have.. DL and RB toughest cuts even WR looks pretty deep..

Only concerned Positions TE where is Jarwin and Shultz both out hurt, Old man Witten will be fine but we are weak there anyway and i look over at Lions game and see they got James and draftd the best TE in the legue to help stafford..on defense maybe the safety spots but with that DL when quinn comes back and Tank is full speed, i say its goign to hrlp the backend...

part of me feels like this is just a preseason story, we gotta remember jerry likes
Competition and he likes to negotiate as much as he likes watching his team.

Having said that what if this stretches into the regular season and pollard looks good and we don’t wanna see that frumpy diva ever again?
Romo's situation was different than Zeke's. Romo was sidelined by an injury. He was effectively Wally Pipped out of a job. Zeke is sidelined by his own greed and ignorance. Already known as an off the field knucklehead, Zeke is now showing that the loyalty and lengths to which Jerry Jones fought for Zeke, does not matter. Jerry even tried to get Roger Goodell fired to protect Zeke but that didn't register with Zeke as something that matters to him. So now we have a 24 yr old with 2 years left on his rookie contract making demands to Jerry. So the question being asked here is could it be possible Zeke loses his job over this holdout. I suppose that depends on a couple of factors. One, Pollard would have to be doing very well as our starting RB. Two, the amount of animosity Jerry feels for Zeke not recognizing the lengths Jerry went to, to defend him and thus holding out and demanding a record-making deal a year early. Those two factors being fulfilled, I can definitely see a scenario where Zeke came back to reclaim his job without a new contract but instead gets benched for the rest of this season.

absolutely...Pollard is a nice RB thus far in PRE season. EE is a stud. He's a pain in the arse IMO, but still a stud.

Tony lost his job due to age and injury, not because of money. If he was young and healthy, then they would've eventually paid him because he is a superior player to Dak.

Can we see Pollard in some real games before we decide to throw one of, if not the best player on our team away?

What was the tuna great saying?

Totally agree. I never expected him to play the 5th year option or the tag without a new deal and I don’t think the FO did either. But doing it this year was in bad form. He got 4 million up front in his signing bonus and will make a additional 3.8 this year. He signed the deal and took the bonus money that his agent (by the way) negotiated in his rookie deal.

SJ made a mistake in not specifying when he made the remark about paying him. He should have said they were setting the money to the side to have enough after this year to negotiate. But the agent heard him say the money was already set aside so he is jumping on it.

I never thought he would do a team friendly deal even with the off field issues. Moose was saying last night that Elliot needs to get this done because he don’t have much leverage. The whole NFL knows this is not a good move and not cool to do to your team.

I understand RB have a short shelf life and the rams made a mistake and raised the market to high. They could have signed gurly for way less.

I think Pollard has gave us so much leverage that they don’t have to cave to Zeke’s demands.

He’s got 2 years left on his deal. If he doesn’t want to play well that’s fine because Tony Pollard is ready to go.
Yup, I agree that Pollard is the reason Zeke will not get that #1 top RB contract
