Yesterday on the Normathon on The Ticket, Charlie Waters mentioned that it could have been Demarcus Ware's responsibility to cover LJ Smith on that play.

He said that LJ Smith started off by blocking down on Ware and Burnett went after Garcia at that point. Then, LJ Smith releases and thinks that it might have been a switch situation where since Smith blocked Ware, Ware should have switched from blitzing to covering him as he released.

I don't know, sounds like a lot to ask of a single player. "Hey Burnett, you cover the TE unless he blocks someone else, if he does that then you rush. Ware, if the TE blocks down on you, you stop rushing and cover him if he happens to release."

Regardless, we look like the most pathetic team in the NFL when we blitz. The Eagles have blitzing and stunting down to perfection! We look like its the first time we've ever even thought of it and have NEVER practiced it.
I've seen high school teams that are better with their blitzing than we are.
Ware was on the opposite side of the field. Hatcher was the DE on that side of the field. No way it was Hatcher's job to cover the TE. He blew right past him. The LB on the opposite side was blitzing. Roy was blitzing. The only player it could possibly have been was Burnett. He busted his assignment.
