Punishment for defenders not stopping the run all game, and the bye being this week.. make them play through it ,you can't practice that, mostly BYE week is now..so they let them play. rust can set in with too many snaps off right before a bye,Been a Cowboys fan for 43 years and will NEVER understand in this league why coaches do that ...in college when up comfortably late in the game, you always see the 2nd stringers. It's the prudent thing to do for two reasons: get your starters out of harm's way so they don't get hurt and it also allows the backups some reps so they can improve and not get frustrated by lack of playing time.
I think the answer is it's just always the way it's been done because they ALL do it. Parsons was wore down to a nub yesterday at the end: gassed as hell and he's still in there. Not smart IMO, same with Dak....we KNOW we have a solid backup: put him in. Thoughts?
I would have put the backups in.Keep having to say this but backups were in all day. Team did not have full 2nd strings to go to
If you come to games active they expect you to play, sparing the QBs.
A few are pure special teams guys that likely don't even know the offense/defense play calls.
Chicago Bears at Dallas Cowboys - October 30th, 2022 | Pro-Football-Reference.com
Did you happen to see Ravens vs Dolphins? If you did then that is your answer. If you did not then well if you look at a recap of it you can see that even a 20 point lead in the 4th is not a guaranteed win.
Parsons is chasing the sack title and wants to play.
Not sure you can force him to sit without ticking him off royally.
Keep having to say this but backups were in all day.I would have put the backups in.
Because we were up 21 points earlier in the game the Bears cut it to 5?
Man, some of you guys will argue anything...C'mon man...they cut it to 5 but then we hit the gas and expanded back to 20 again. You know that though, or should. Game was well in hand late in 4th qtr...just like many Cowboys wins I've seen over the years.......anyway, that's the way I feel. Any of you who disagree have NFL coaches on your side so there's that. I concede that 100% cuz it's a fact.
I would have put the backups in.
So your telling me Rush couldn't go in? Tolbert couldn't go in? Wright and Joseph couldn't go in? Ball couldn't go in? Golston and Gallimore couldn't go in? Bell couldn't go in? Bohanna couldn't go in? Gifford couldn't go in? McKeon couldn't go in? Gifford couldn't go in? Goodwin couldn't go in?With the injuries to all the safeties they were already in .. Same with the LB group.. Barr doing down put Clark on the field.. and who are you putting in at backup center? The tight ends we essentially all playing starter minutes.. Which one of them is the garbage time "backup?" Same with the receivers.. Brown was hurt, Houston was inactive.. Turpin is your ST MVP.. who are the sacrificial lambs in that group?
I agree with you I would have loved to put the backups in My only reservation was the officiating was so bad that I felt They could manipulate the game easier with the starters out.So your telling me Rush couldn't go in? Tolbert couldn't go in? Wright and Joseph couldn't go in? Ball couldn't go in? Golston and Gallimore couldn't go in? Bell couldn't go in? Bohanna couldn't go in? Gifford couldn't go in? McKeon couldn't go in? Gifford couldn't go in? Goodwin couldn't go in?
You really think I'm dumb enough to assume the whole team could be replaced? I know damn well you can't pull everybody, but those that could have been pulled would have been pulled. Period.
I WOULD HAVE PUT THE BACKUPS IN!
