Yeah, that was a great way for BP to handle the situation, but it doesn't really address the point: Owens couldn't resist poking at BP through the media. The simple fact that the coach and player admit the player enjoys "sucking" the fans and media in should cause some concern. Why can't he just be a normal player that plays well on the field and doesn't play games with the coach via the media?

Owens wasnt poking at the coach he was poking at the media for asking dumb questions

Or it could simply mean that the player sucks the media in with non-sense. Again, consider yourself sucked.

Right, thats what I said, you are saying you approve of a player that enjoys "sucking in" the media and fans with nonsense? First, I doubt that's true since TO has said plenty of things in the media that were not nonsense but instead were shots at coaches. Second, even if it is just "nonsense," it's still drama that causes problems with the team. Look, the guy spit on another player during a game, and has shown time and time again to be immature, and your giving him the benefit of the doubt in other situations?

I mean, sheesh, I guess Bill is smarter than I thought since a lot of you guys here repeat that "consider yourself sucked" line, as if to the coach having to deal with his antics and emotions is no big deal. As if all players go on ESPN and trash their team or admit to not listening to their coach ... if you comment on it, you're being "sucked in" thats just silly.

Or maybe it doesn't. By all accounts the players love him and want him back.

In the end it appears that it just sucks in the media and fans that eat up the media's nonsense.

OK, so you're saying Owens didn't cause any drama this year, didn't make mistakes on national TV in interviews, and most of his problems are media created? I can't believe anyone bought this "sucked in" stuff... but hey...

I have already stated that he made a mistake in the Irvin interview. That was a bad move. Other than that, no he wasn't much of a distraction outside of the media attention. That was expected coming in and wasn't as bad as I thought it would be to tell you the truth. Maybe I just became numb to it in the end.

The players don't seem to have a problem with it. The owner doesn't have a problem. The head coach is gone, so it doesn't really matter if he had a problem with it. Basically its just the media and some fans that got sucked into thinking he was some big problem.

Owens recently said: "He was a great coach," Owens said. "A coach of his stature will be greatly missed. Jerry (Jones) gave him the option when things settled down in his head to do what he wanted to do. It was very admirable of Jerry, especially of a coach of his stature."

Was "he sucking us in" or is this stuff true? How do we know the difference again? When it's negative and TO wants it back, it's a joke...that how it works?

And spitting on an opponent? Then, right after the game, being interviewed he basically says "Hey, it happened, I'm sorry but it's time to move on" ...the guy barely had time to wipe the spit off his face and TO's on TV "sucking us in."

Do you know that he intentionally spit on him? There's no evidence of it. There's tape of both players at the time it was alleged to have happened and there's nothing that indicates Owens intentionally spit on him. He never admitted to intentionally spitting on him. It was most likely accidental as he states it was.

You guys are unbelievable.
Anyone who defends a moron like T.O. is an idiot.
The guy has no respect for the game he plays and how successful it's made him. He shouldn't have a job in the NFL but the world seems overloaded with people like yourselves who are more focused on finding a way to defend this loser and give him second, third chance rather than penalize him for the ones he's already been given.

The guy is an arrogant punk and offers nothing to the game of football except the occasional TD.He personafies all that is wrong with athletes today and is the posterboy for arrogant celebrities, poor role models, and spoiled rotten brats.

If you don't consider his mockery of practice with a bike helmet on during his rehab when he full well knew the world was watching his every move as disrespectful then you are as worthless as he is.
His comments on Parcells and his lack of interest in his speech was entirely inappropriate.
His crybaby rants about getting involved more in the offense all the while dropping key passes when given the opportunity and costing us games. (not to mention he clearly stated prior to the season that how much he got the ball would never be the issue and he was only concerned with what he would do with the ball when given the opportunity)

And did someone say the media caused an unnecessary emphasis on his dropped passes because he is T.O.?
Gimme a break.
He led the league in dropped passes and the passes he dropped occured in key moments of games when we needed a play.
Lemme guess... the media created that too.

Stop making excuses for this fool. He is an immature jerk in a very fortunate position who does not handle it with an ounce of class or appreciation. He does not need your endorsement and the more you offer it the more you send a message to other players in the league that it's okay to act the way he does.

With T.O. it is not a matter of what but rather a matter of when? And WHEN he does mistreat his fortunate position with the Cowboys and causes an ill effect, I GUARANTEE none of you will be any where to be found to accept your deserved ridicule and stand corrected.

The sooner he leaves the better. But there will always be some fool waiting in the wings to pay him another multi-million dollar deal to come and ruin their franchise because you fools are everywhere.

If you accept a position of celebrity and status and your salary is a result of your fanbase then you owe it to the people who pay your check to offer some class and respect. Anyone who doesn't is a very selfish individual and deserves the criticisms that come from it.

This post should be preserved forever as a testament to what happens when hate blinds one to reality. Never mind that he was the leading WR on the team with over 1400 yds. Never mind that Every account says that his teammates want him back. Neve mind the guy writing his checks wants him back. The one guy who doesn't want him back, ain't coming back.

The bottom line is that he is a play maker, and he has not caused any internal problems this year. Not one.

Hate is a poison. Stop drinking it.

That was the venerable Charles Barkley.

Track record speaks volumes.
He said himself, "if it walks like a rat and talks like a rat..."

He had to be on his best behavior this year. Even he is smart enough to know that. But with a year under his belt and his biggest disciplinarian out of the way, it's only a matter of time.

Like a battered wife who keeps taking her loser husband back, the blind desire to believe someone has changed and offer a second chance time and time again without acknowledging the patterns of the past is a poison. Stop drinking it.
