Can this finally close the book on 2016 please?

Just like Jerrah held on to his boy wonder Garrett for far too long, he's done the same with this illusion that the two rookies of 2016 Dak and Zeke are going to lead us to the promised land one day.
Hack the Eagles have been in the Super Bowl since then and yet completely moved on from the quarterbacks and running backs they had and they are at the top of the heap again. Meanwhile our doddering old fool lives in the past.

Would be nice but I seriously doubt Jerry will.

Are there any QBs in the coming draft who are certain to become franchise QBs? If so, are we in a position to move up to get them? If they're that promising, what are the odds that they would fall to us? We have to move on, but I seriously question how that can happen.

There's never a sure-fire quarterback to draft. It's always a calculated risk, but sometimes you just have to take your shots.

Yep, we've been getting lapped by a lot of franchises.

we're not winning with this FO period. We've already rotated all the pieces and placing the blame everywhere but the constant. 30 years of the same results. The next qb is going to be Dak 2.0, and Dak was essentially Romo 2.0. All of these guys are going to come in and look great at times but never be good enough when the playoffs come around because we have soft coaching and bargain budget talent

Cooper Rush went 4-1 man. I just can’t buy into that.
Well he averaged 19 points per game on offense. Try to extrapolate that over a full season when the defense isnt holding teams to 13 points per game for him.

The only time this franchise felt irrelevant was during the post-Aikman QB carousel days. The possibility of that repeating itself scares Jerry to death. Hence, he will ride this illusion till the wheels fall off.

Dak needs to be put on notice with some serious competition breathing down his neck. Something has to change.
Absolutely. You draft the best QB prospect you can, and let them compete for the job in training camp. If Dak can beat out the competition, he keeps his starting job. If the other guy wins, then he's our new starter. As Tony Romo said about Dak taking his job, this is a meritocracy. At the time, Dak had earned the starting job. Of late, he's earned having some competition for the job to come his way.

There's no guarantee that the new guy will be better, but you've got to take your shot at it. If Dak gets his butt in gear and plays great, beating out the other guy, great. A little competition can get a guy motivated. If the other guy beats him out, great. We've found our upgrade.

You need to commit that 'doddering old fool' phrase to memory. It's why we haven"t won anything in almost 3 decades and it will continue to be the reason for as long as he's slithering upon the earth.
